Well guys looks like I am going to be heading to my hunting spot with a truck full of boxes. My closing date on my house just got moved up three days which moves it into my season. I look at it as a bonus because I normally don't take off for turkey season but since I'm moving I will be able to get in two morning hunts that I didn't think I would be able to do.

My season is the 23-29 of April

Congrats jweb! Nice bird. Brad for Capt sounds good. I don't get to draw back on anything till May 1, but we do go till May 31. 2 Toms allowd, can only hunt till noon. Winter is long this year and we haven't seen any early strutting activity which is a good sign.

I haven't been able to get the birds closer than 50 yards, seems like they are always getting hung up! Any tips on hung up birds?? They aren't with hens they leave them and walk towards me but then they stop. Now the jakes come sprinting in but for some reason the Toms always stop.

Thanks! Good luck to you! I'm going out on Saturday morning again. Might just video my girlfriends hunt.

Vargas, patience mostly. Sometimes a change in location or the way you arrange your decoys. In the end, the big boys will come when they decide they r ready. At least you are seeing birds, which is always fun.

Was up north this weekend scouting. Saw a good flock with about 6 nice toms in the group. Looks like a good season is ahead of me.

Finally was able to find time to shoot my bow this last weekend and she is still dialed in. Got me really pumped for my season in a couple of weeks

Any luck fellas? I was out scouting yesterday birds were right where we thought they would be. Not a ton of birds however compared to years past. Should be easy enough to get one next week though. My season starts Wednesday and goes to Tuesday. Can't hunt until Saturday though so hopefully I can make it happen quick

Turns out my season wont start until the 28th now. Had a problem with my license dealer but I guess you have to take what you get. Turkeys still patterning pretty well with my set up so I shouldnt have alot to worry about.

My season officially started yesterday. Was out scouting birds last week. Had two nice Toms figured out but my friend shot one of them the next day. Had a 9 inch beard.

Have another Tom in another area at my future inlaws place and they were calling me up telling me how big it was. He doesn't have a pattern so I don't know how I'm going to go after him if I did.

Have one other place that is normally where I hunt that always has birds. I haven't been up there to scout but they seem to be the same every year.

I hate living so far away from my area, I wish I could scout more. There doesn't seem to be very many birds around so I'm not expecting much. First bird with a beard is getting an arrow. Don't have much time to hunt with the seasons being so short in WI plus I am moving which.

Only 4 days and I'm in the woods. Cant wait, have 3 good sized toms. Won a turkey calling contest at school yesterday so I'd say I'm ready. It happens to everybody Jim, just have to give it another shot.
