check your mounting screws on your sight. I had a little play in mine about a month ago. I had to get a screw that was 1/4” longer than the screws that came with the sight in order tighten it down. I was missing about 6” low before I figured that out.

Everything is tight. I will double check the peep tomorrow. I have only killed two animals at 40 and that was last year. A turkey and a doe. Really don’t like shooting animals past 30. Thanks for the advice.

I have a dovetail sight and i really have to pay attention when i slide it out and tighten it down that i have it in the right position. If its off a little bit it will come loose. Happened to me yesterday

Also, did you add any weight to your arrows this year? Guys tend to accidentally use a weaker spine when bumping up their FOC.

Guys, I hope it's not just me, but that velvet buck that was just put on the scoreboard does not look like a 186" deer. Yes, I know with the velvet on he'll score up to 30" more inches or so, so I'm guessing it's possible. I could see that buck scoring in the 150's without velvet. So maybe it is 186 with velvet.

Mine scored 208” as a nontypical and is 28 7/8” wide. I can buy 186” on that mulie.

No, I was talking about the whitetail. I mean the scores add up correctly. I'm just saying a typical 10 with a few small abnormal points with 9" G 2's just doesn't hit 180+. But when I guess you add on 30" inches for velvet, I could see it happening.

Mass was 42", so velvet didn't really add that much. The 16" of abnormal points is really what boosted his score. I think Hicks is pretty close.

I got my first cell cam set up last night and test pics came in this morning. Man, this is going to be addicting!

They need a couple more years, but will surely grow into monsters...

Can be very deceiving. I think he is on i just think its a smaller looking 180 class deer. The little junk added up. Im sure he knew this and posted that close up pic of all the junk at the bases. You arent crazy to second guess it i did myself.

Instead of shooting last night I decided to make a couple of cast. Caught my personal best. 6 pounds 12 ounces. Hopefully that is a sign it’s going to be a good fall.

Heck yeah! That was better than shooting a bow.

My 4 year old wants to be a professional fisherman when he grows up.

That is awesome. He already knows how to hold them to look bigger. Hopefully weekend I can get out and check camera and set a few more and check some stands.

Well guys! I didn't get the exact dates off I wanted, but I did get some time off. I'll be flying to Ohio Friday, November 11th, and coming back home Monday, November 20th. So I'll have 9 days to get it done!!!!!

Have any of you guys ever traveled with bows/guns? Do they just charge like the price of a suitcase? Do I need to get insurance for it in case it's damaged? Better not be damaged it will be my one and only choice of weapons I have with me.

Have any of you guys ever flown somewhere with your bow to hunt? Do you suggest a hard case? Even though I'm going back to my old stomping grounds I'm already feeling the pressure. I know I'm pretty sure I can get a doe. I'm just not sure about a buck. I know there are several good bucks in the area but what if in the first day I see a nice mature 130"-140" 8 point. Do I pass in hopes my big boy will come around? How long do I wait? I know these are only questions I can answer, but what have some of you guys done when you travel out of state and the pressure is on to get it done?

I have flown with both a bow and rifle. Both should be stored in hard plastic cases. With my bow, I put a bow sling over the strings then pack clothes and other soft items in the case to help cushion the bow should it get banged around. I take the broadheads off the arrows and store inside a plastic broadhead case. The arrows will be fine in the clips if the bow case has any. You will need TSA approved locks on both cases.

Got a couple of stands set this evening. Checked camera that has been out since July. Nothing like watching the beans grow. Have one small buck and doe on it. Dang squirrel tilted it to the side so I got a tree for 900 pictures.
