Sunday afternoon I took my youngest out for his first “hunt.” We scouted a new piece of public today. He kept up with me for three hours and did great. We found an incredible rub line on a small ridge between two dried swamps. The rub line looked like it was leading into a pine thicket at the top of a draw. Definitely a spot I need to scout more before next year, looks like it will be good for Thanksgiving/early December based upon the sign.
I'm still after them! The big boys that usually show up at my urban property haven't arrived yet. I need to check cams at the other two places and make a late season plan...
I had a flurry of deer movement last night. My cams blew up. Couple new bucks that are interesting for next year
Hopefully I can get out after the new year. Really don’t need the meat but I found out I can donate the meat to the community. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Same here! I must have a hot doe at the urban property because 6 different bucks have been all over my camera today. So far it's just the usual suspects.
Made it out yesterday afternoon for an hour. Saw 4 total. Had a 2 year old buck at 30 yards but he was pointed toward some thick stuff and i wasn't in the mood to trapse through it to find him and drag him out. He was a nice 8point, just outside his ears.. He will be a dandy next year if I on't see him again before season ends. the others were 3 does about 120 yards away. Pretty good sit for an hour.
Its basically late season unless you hunt late ruts in the south; kill a doe if you haven't. I will continue chasing deer until the end of February in Arkansas, hoping I can still put down a buck before the end of the contest.
Brought the 350 legend out this evening for our bonus weekend. Hunting our 122 farm. It’s cold flurries and I’m tired lol. Hunting a tower blind and can cover some ground. Only one buck I’d shoot and he’s big. Will have the bow out tomorrow morning or evening. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Is anyone getting out at all? Im going to build some new arrows and get sighted in. Hopefully next monday after this brutal cold comes in i will sit over some food and try to take another doe.
I'm not down here in Florida. But, on the bright side, I think I found myself some public land to go after both deer and hogs. Haven't checked it out physically yet, but from what I've heard and seen of it, it looks pretty promising.
Single digit highs around here this weekend....But I've got some vacation days to burn so I think I'll try to get out a few days next week.
I’m still grinding, I’ll be back out next Monday. Hoping there are survivors out there since gun season has ended. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I live in Port St Lucie on the east coast. It's in the treasure coast area, if you've heard of that. The area I'll be looking into is called the Allapattah Flats, located in western Martin county. It has 20,945 acres. Hopefully it will be a nice area and not too over hunted.
Hopefully I can out Monday evening to get a doe. Be safe out there fellas. Old man winter can be grumpy sometimes. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I pulled cards on one property today. There are some new young bucks cruising through, but most wouldn't get an arrow. This one might...
