I don't have a tailor's tape, so going to get one tonight and I'll get him officially entered!

So, the rain could stop any time from 2 to 5pm tomorrow. I have a blind 50 yards from my new stand setup. I'm thinking about jumping in the blind at noon and moving to the stand when radar starts to look promising. Wet leaves should make for a quiet transition.

    What do you guys think?

You know the area and deer movement. Now of course, in the rut, typical movement can be tossed out the window. If you think it's a good move, do it!!!!!

I guess it depends on the time and if you feel like getting soaked or not. If you want to move to the blind I would do it at least 2 hrs before last light. Just scan everywhere as best as you can before getting down. You don't want to get caught with your bow down and you up the tree, lol.

Gonna be a long day. Been up since 9 am Thursday morning. Working all night til 5 this morning. Then I'm heading home so my wife can run me down to Fort Lauderdale airport. My plane leaves at 8:55. It makes a stop and has a short layover in Atlanta, then I finally land in Cleveland at 1:33. It's an hour and a half drive down to Dover. I'll have to grab some soap, cover scent and some doe estrous. Eat my favorite pizza in the world then start checking trail cam pics. Try to get to bed relatively early then start the 9 day grind Saturday morning. Here's to hoping I kill a giant. Hoping Eye Guard is frequenting the kill zone!!!!!

Good luck fellas. The wind is picking up throughout the day. Surely the deer should still be moving. It’s go time.

Tonight feels like the night. Got out of the wind. Sitting in a different creek bottom. This morning hunt was good. Seen few deer for about 30 mins then it just went dead.

Had to go out to the stand site cause my lazy son didn't go yesterday and it was pouring all day. So, I got soaked, dumped some corn and attractant and pulled the one card. I hope the camera was working cause it didn't seem right. I fiddled with it for a minute and it seemed to be working ok, fingers crossed. So, didn't want to disturb it that late but I don't think I bumped anything but even if I did I probably wouldn't have heard it, soft ground and pouring rain. Looks like the yote problem is getting worse though. This was right by where I park the truck at. IMG_20221111_172758804.jpg

Everything was perfect for my hunt today. Saw 1 small buck at last light. This year blows, so far!

Unfortunately my suspicions were correct. Camera worked but very sporadically. Saw several bucks. One decent 3 year old but I don't think I'd shoot him. So I'll just have to go by what I think might be in there. Guess that's not such a bad thing. Here's the best one. IMG_20221111_200526285_HDR.jpg

Buck down. Not a huge one. But the encounter was awesome. First deer with new bow and first in the snow.
