    I know I originally put 123". I always make my guess then go 2" less. So technically my guess is really 125". So 123" or 125", I win, lol!!!!!

    @airenlow
    If it was me, looking at the weather this week, I wouldn’t miss Friday to Sunday. Peak morning movement is flirting with shooting light and afternoons will be perfect. We’re expecting rain this Friday (eastern Ohio) but this cold front coming in is going to be killer. Only thing I hate is peak lock down is here/approaching. My least favorite time is now, I love late October and 11/16-11/22. Always get big boys cruising those November days before youth firearms season.

    I saw three, maybe four bucks tonight. almost killed a six point tonight. It came in behind to 15 yards straight at me. I was waiting for it to come five more yards so it would be broadside when a gunshot went off over the ridge. The buck bolted to 60 yards downwind.

    I'll be back out there tomorrow morning. I don't want to burn the spot, but I don't want to waste a day off of work either. This East wind, that's killing everybody, is actually perfect for this property.

    I hope this hurricane doesn't mess my trip up, or delay my flight. Friday morning I should be good to go, just not sure how travel will be and if a bunch of flights are delayed I'm hoping mine isn't pushed back. I live pretty much right where it's hitting so hopefully our temporary homestead doesn't suffer any damage. We are building a new house and should be in it by next July or August at the latest.

    Ok guys, I need some advice. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to hunt, buck/doe. I want to save the first 2 or 3 days for buck only. Then the next 3 days buck or doe. Last 3 days buck and or doe if I don't have a doe by then. I guess my question is do you think if given a chance I should take a doe those first 3 days? Since I know the area like the back of my hand, I'm pretty sure I can pick a doe off any day I go out there, but you all know hunting and how it could go. This hunt will be different though cause now if I get a deer in the morning, I'll get back out there as soon as I can. Also, those first 3 days, if I can stand it I'll be doing all day sits.

    Take a doe the first chance you get. Bucks are an encounter with a target buck is never guaranteed. I haven’t seen a doe yet.

    I'd whack a doe and keep hunting. Weather this weekend should allow it with morning temps below freezing.

    I went back this morning. Everything was perfect, but I didn't see a single deer. I moved a stand for Friday's wind and I'll be out when the hurricane rain stops that afternoon.

    Those are some good deer. I will be having hunting camp this weekend. 30 degree temp drop from Thursday into Friday. It’s going to be perfect. I am going to shooting whatever gets me excited. I think this weekend is going to be the best of the year.
