Team 10 - The Perfect 10

Congrats again shocker. I don’t think I will get out this weekend. Monday is our anniversary and would like to spend time with her. Plus is going to rain and be warm this weekend. I have next Friday off for 3 days of hard hunting when my brother and buddy come down. Here is a pic from last year. Buddy killed his first buck. He is on the right.

How was the first day of rutcation? You heading back out today?

 

I ended going to the doctor yesterday and got an antibiotic, which was good because I had an ear infection. Two of my three boys came home from school with upset stomach’s yesterday and the flu is starting to run rampant. Starting to feel like someone doesn’t want me hunting next week. Not liking the forecast for most of next week either.

 

I had 2 bucks chasing does from 10-11, but the rest of the day was dead. My mom is in town from Montana, so I pulled some cards and headed home around 3.

I'm back out today and already had unidentified bucks chasing does all around me. Stay tuned...

 

I just cancelled my vacay next week. Im pushing it to the following and may take off that friday 11th. Our shotgun season is 18,19,20. So i will probably just connect the 11th to gun season.

 

4 little guys today. I moved the rest of my rutcation due to the heat. I'll hunt this weekend and then should have the 8-13 off.

 

I call off my rut vacation and this is the first thing I see at work. Crappy pic, but it's a solid 10 point.

 

Well guys here is the first shooter we have on cam where I'll be hunting. I'm pretty sure I killed this guy's brother a couple years ago. If it's the same buck I'm thinking he's 6.5 and a solid 160"-170" 10 point. Nearly perfect. I'm putting him at 162". What do you all think? After I get up and my son hopefully sends me more pics I'll post more.

 

Great looking buck! He needs to die.

Everyone remember, shoot does! That is just important for winning the contest as killing bucks.

 

I'll have a buck and a doe tag. I plan on filling both! If he's on the card, wait til you see the buck I call Eye Guard. You won't even be thinking about That Perfect 10, lol!

Well my niece took the laptop that my son was going to look at the pictures on. Now I have to wait until sometime tomorrow. Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!

 

Here is my set up tonight. Deer should be bedded to the south about 150 to 200 yards. Wind is perfect. Supposed to die down by 5. It’s game time

Got a mid day pic of the buck i thought i shot the other night. Not sure how i mistook the one i shot for this one. One i shot was a solid buck but he was only 122”. This one looks more like 145 ish. Super wide. I refer to him as the big 8 cause thats what i thought he was at first but hes actually a 9. He is my number 1 target on this property. Same one i posted pics of awhile back .

 

Thats a super nice deer. I think youre very close on score

 

Guy that hunts a property close to where i hunt text me. He just now shot right over that Big bucks back! I text my buddy to tell him cause hes out there hunting and he said he just saw him too! And im on the couch! Haha.

 

I'll be in the woods in the morning. I should probably go to my 4 year old's basketball game at noon, but we'll see how things are going...

 

the deer wil be there when your son grows up. Go to the game and make sure he knows what does is important to you. Kids are only young once.

 

Im up in the plot stand. It is torn up with scrapes on my walk in. Jays are just now going nuts in the draw. Hope a cruiser comes through. Im only after that one big buck so if i shoot another deer it would have to be that caliber.
