Wished I was. Unfortunately for me, my first day in the stand will either be an evening hunt November 11th, or I'll start my hunting on Saturday the 12th and hunt til I get it done or til Sunday the 19th. Really hope I can get'er done!
My season opens on Saturday, but with my son's football game in the morning and a high of 94, I am not going to hunt. Long term forecast is looking a like a high in the upper 70s for Oct 1st. I will try to get out that weekend.
The property is only 2 acres. Historically, I can hunt it maybe three times before they completely avoid the area until the rut.
Finally mostly settled in the new house. My new barn/garage allows for a 21 yd shot corner corner. If I stand outside the entry door I can get 25. Exodus heads hitting same POI as field tip. 550 gr arrow buried into the doe target behind the buck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Those exodus broadheads are deadly. My honest opinion they are the best heads on the market. I have a question. I just noticed tonight that every once and while when I’m in mid draw my bow will make a tiny squeak. It sounds like it’s coming from the rest area but not 100 percent sure. And also how can I stop my peep from turning. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Rotate the peep sight slighty in the same direction as the twists in you string. It may help it align with your eye better at full draw.
are you shooting Black Eagle Renegades? I shoot those but I fletch mine in a four fletch configuration. I find it helps stabilize the areow for better flight with broadheads.
Mine was doing this when mole skin was worn out on the drop away. Arrows would squeak when drawing across it.
I am shoot the ics bemens. I will have to double check the skin. But it looked good last night. If it’s worn out how do you replace it Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
That is funny, Zombie Slayers were out of stock a couple years ago when I started shooting the Renegades.
I've definitely been noticing a squeak coming from my arrows rubbing along the material on my rest. I'll need to replace that, but hopefully it doesn't change where my arrow sits on the rest.
I cleaned my cable guide with some rubbing alcohol and still does it. It almost sounds like a creaking noise. Going to drive me nuts till I figure it out Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Try getting some of that keyboard cleaner stuff in an aerosol can and spraying down all the screws and bearings in the cams. Sometimes dust or dirt will work in there and create a squeaking while drawing.
