Overall, opening weekend was pretty good. Not holding antler good, but my scouting and preparation was spot on. The weather and my ability to quickly judge a buck were the downfalls. Saturday evening I was watching squirrels and birds until about 6:30, I looked behind me and there was a buck about 15 yards into the cornfield. Looking directly towards me, so I thought I had which buck it was nailed down. A nice 100" 8 point that I was hoping would make it another year. Well it got into the woods, gave me opportunity after opportunity and when I finally got a clear look at him, I realized I made a mistake looking at him in the corn. He was quite a bit bigger than I thought, and realized which buck it actually was. Definitely a shooter, one of the bucks I have been excited about for the last couple months.. A nice 8 point that would more than likely break 120". Never gave me another opportunity. Sunday morning was warm again, saw a couple small bucks. I will be back at it again this weekend, though the weather doesn't look much better. Still going to be warm.
The weather never really cooperated last weekend so I didn't get out. We will see how there weather looks later this week, but I imagine I will get out this weekend no matter what
Starting to pick it up in the woods right now. Probably get 3 or 4 hunts here in the next couple days. I have a big test this Saturday at work and then it should really start to open up for me in the woods

I will be hitting it hard this weekend on the family land. Have to hang a stand or 4 but will be hunting tomorrow afternoon, Sat morning, and Sat afternoon.

I’m in the stand. Pretty flipping hot out here, though. Saw three does crossing the road right before my driveway. Will see what happens in the next two hours.
Turkeys, turkeys, and some more turkeys. 13 of them walked within 20yds of my stand. Back out in the morning. Drowning my sorrows with a g&t but will be at it tomorrow. Hunting the morning and then have a friend coming to hang some more stands and then we will both be at it tomorrow afternoon
I’m in for my third sit of the weekend. New stand that I just hung. Have had at least three deer to my east already.
It looks like its going to line up perfect here. 10 degrees down friday, then another 10 saturday. I'm thinking about taking a half day Friday to get an extra sit in. Historically, the 15-19th time frame is when I have had the best success during bow season.
