This is why we do it! Muzzleloader with my son this weekend. Had a blast and made some memories.

Been quiet a bit lately, just been too hectic, haven't been able to hunt the last 2 weeks, and bow closed this last week. Won't open again until later in the month. Will be out with the 450 boom stick this weekend.

How do you like the straight-walled cartridges?

I enjoy them, but its a slippery slope to any rifle cartridges, which I don't like as much.

I have had covid the past couple weekends. Felt pretty crappy for a while but I'm back to work tonight. Things still taste goofy and I don't have all my strength back yet. Other then that I'm feeling good. Hoping to get back out after a buck this weekend.

You are lucky! I was out with the c-19er the first week of November and still can’t taste. Smell is just starting to come back. All in all I am glad you are feeling better, though.

Ya I was nervous I have seen a few stories like that. If your smell is coming back taste should follow.

Headed up this weekend for late doe season. They changed it recently in MI, it used to be muzzleloader season until the 20th in the area we hunt, so you could take buck or doe. Now the whole state is done with muzzleloader on the 12th I believe and we are in the late antlerless area. I will sit tomorrow morning with the rifle, if we have any decent bucks on camera, I will swap to the bow. Otherwise, I will be up there between Christmas and the New Year to stick a doe with the bow for another 50. I'd really like another deer for the freezer, but so far my dad or brother haven't shot anything this year. So if that doesn't change, I will probably send the next one up their way so they have some meat for the year too.

Hi guys ! Things have been crazy for me it being my 10 year old son Jakes first year hunting. He had one hell of a first season !
    Opening morning archery NJ
He took a nice doe then in November he got 6pt buck!
Then I told him time for him to hold out for a mature buck.
After lots of long hard hunts in NJ
I brought him to PA for there Gun season and 1 hr into the hunt he took a 5.5 year old 7pt with the crossbow! I will work on scoring my buck today and entering it into the contest

The weather is finally here for me. Snow on the ground and sticking. Will have deer moving. One of my favorite times to hunt as long as I can stay warm.

I noticed its supposed to be over 30mph winds. That had me a little less excited about the single digit Temps lol

I ended up going tonight instead. I had a 30 yard shot at a button buck. That's it.

This is it, last weekend I usually go out and hope to this time too. 1 more chance to not go buckless 2 years in a row.

I’ve been going about every day. Targeting 2 bucks. Will be killing does this last weekend for Hunters for the Hungry hunt. I haven’t given up yet on this buck. Just wrong winds and bad timing [IMG]
