Hey guys and gals my name is Nick and I hunt northwestern Illinois. A little public and private. How about we win this thing
I do see some names I recognize so maybe we have a shot at a fun year. I'll bold out the names so we can keep track of who checks in Everyone should probably introduce themselves though. Little background information is nice for starting the ball rolling on getting to know each other.
Yeah, sorry about that. Was at work and wanted to make sure I checked in. Joel from WI here. I hunt mostly private land but am also part of the urban hunt program so I have a spot that is literally 10 minutes from my door. Excited for this season to start!
Hey guys, I'm an ER doc from Iowa, last fall I bought 40 acres and have been having fun doing my first food plots in. Some successes and some failures. I have about 4 acres of beans that did really well, and hopefully my brassica and turnips and winter wheat get a big spring board from the rain we finally got. My other food plot, the lower bottom land is somewhat overgrown, and my brassica are going to be competing heavily against a giant field of thistles. Apparently my spraying was a failure. Either way I've learned a lot this year, have some nice bucks on cam, no monsters but some nice Iowa deer. But I am going to have the best food source for miles once the crops come out, so I have a pretty good chance of sucking in some deer from a ways out. This week I am going to hopefully get my new tower in so I can get the new muddy blind 10 ft up, then maybe one ladder run stand in, and I'll be set, a month ish before season starts here. Pretty jacked for the season, with the crush of Rona we're fighting right now I just want to be in a treestand. But I'm headed to Canada after a bear and wolf in 11 days! Gonna be a good season. Hey all, Ashley from Ohio here! 2nd year hunting but no worries I've had plenty of practice and scouting going on! I hunt mostly public land. Boyfriend is on a competing team so I can't wait to rub it in his face when we win this thing!
Just be sure he knows you should kill all the deer this fall lol points for our team and keep point off theirs
Team 11 literally has two #1s hahah you guys are going down lol! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Meant to update a bio last night after work but got busy around the house... I am Cole, I live in South East Michigan but hunt at our family farm in central Michigan. A good buck for us is 120" but getting better each year as the surrounding families let go of the brown is down mentality. I have two 5 day weekends planned during bow season, but will be up there every weekend regardless. I am far more excited this year than I have ever been, it feels like ever since the snow melted I have been in hunting mode. I am a Mechanical Engineer and have a hobby shop that my fiancé and I do in our down time. We mostly do the local farmer's market but have recently signed up to do a couple larger craft shows. In a normal year, we spend evenings out on a local lake fishing with our Golden Retriever. I will be good for a doe, as we have a goal of taking 2-3 on the farm every year, and I am due for a good buck with a bow this year.
Marshall checking in from Maryland. Currently driving to Wyoming to bow hunt mule deer the next 5 days and then going to Colorado to chase elk for another 5 or 6 days. Most of my hunting in Maryland consists of Sika deer but I will be in Illinois for about 10 days during the rut to hunt so hopefully I can throw some points on the board.
Nothing is guaranteed in this world but I would be shocked if I don't kill a doe. I have a private area that usually holds a fair amount and I like to eat them too much. I have been out of tenderloin for about 4 months now. I did the math last year I think if everyone kills a doe and half of us kill a 120s buck averaged out we will win
B Hicks (Beardog) checking in from Ky. I'll scratch out a 150 or so by years end . Last year I think was really close to years end. Probably nothing much bigger, or much smaller, unless a target buck shows back up from this summer. I think he'll push 170 gross. Good luck to everyone.
I only have one consistent shooter on camera for the opener this weekend, but there is plenty of time. He gets a a pass. Probably around 140ish
