Bad news here. My buddy text me a pic a little bit ago that his son was walking the bottom across the road from mine with his grandpa and found one of my top 3 dead. Hit by car.

Finally made time to mow the path and check stands. All is good. Good signs and saw a nice buck and doe in the field as i Was leaving, about 15 yards from one of the stands. Probably won't be out much oil mid-month. Scheduled to take my nephews out for the youth hunt next weekend though.

Well my cameras didn't make it. Opened them up and water came pouring out. So far I've been able to view pics on one of the SD cards. Any tips for troubleshooting the other one to get it to read properly?

Wasn't able to make it out opening weekend even though the weather was perfect and many giants hit the dirt here in Ohio. Weather is going to be horrible the next week so I may just plan on hunting the week of 10/15. Best year I've seen for awhile with the massive acorn drop.

#1 buck showed up on cam. Haven't seen him since January. He's a whopper and now the waiting game begins for the right wind/weather. Hate to leave ya'll hangin but I'm not going to post a pic until he's dead or season has ended.

Here's one I hope makes it one more year. Looks to be a only a 3-4yr old with a helluva set of antlers. 2 yr old to the right for body comparison. Could make a huge jump if he makes it to 5. DSCF0034.JPG

I think last week the devil went down to Kentucky and bought hell with him. Offa it was warm. Saw several does but nothing with headgear. On well it was worth the try. Sat this morning in NC temps were ok but next weekend we are supposed to get a 10 degree drop so lets hope that gets things moving some.

First sit last night. Didn't see anything but was good to get out.

Checked a cam this morning and there were 2 shooters by a different stand Friday night when I was hanging a stand a mile away. Dangit!

    3"+ more rain starting tonight...

Wind and heat have been terrible. Needing a SE,E wind to hunt #1 with current setup but not seeing that anytime soon. Will be going out Friday mid day to locate a tree I can hunt on current winds. If I can find the right setup, I'll hang and hunt Friday evening. Cold front coming in Thursday night has me itching to finally get out.

Sorry I haven't been on much guys, been super busy with work and my 16 month old. I have gotten out a couple times, but nothing yet.. Cams have slowed down from the summer (super slow compared to what you guys have for activity). I did have a monster 8 show up in mid august that I have no history with, but he hasn't been back through since.

Good luck to everyone, looks like lots of good deer around for you guys!

Hunted the past three evenings for #1. Setup was perfect but he was a no show. Seen 6-8 deer on each sit and the largest buck was a 125" 9pt. Gonna give it a couple days off and possibly get back out Thursday evening.

Had a few sits and only seen one doe. Most of the activity has been after hours. The 4+ guys have gone MIA as usual but there are a few 3 year olds hanging around. Found several scrapes and rubs in NC. Probably will head up to Virginia this week end to give that a go. Good luck to all and be safe out there.

Just a reminder remember if you take a deer we need two pics from different angles with equipment. You can kill a doe first for 50 points but your first buck is the buck score you get.

Going to hunt this evening ahead of the hard frost weather man is calling for in the morning. #1 is still nocturnal on cams but hoping he makes an appearance. Had another stud 5yr old show up on cam daytime so hoping #1 follows the same script. Will be hard to pass a 150’s 9pt but #1 has my full attention.

Got skunked most of the evening until 10 mins before shooting light ended a small basket 8 came out to check a scrape. Pretty sure coyotes had the place screwy.... Camera showed 4-5 yotes on cam all night and during daylight Tuesday morning and as I was leaving the blind, a large group started sounding off not 100yds away. Also, the big 9 was out again during daylight Tuesday evening. I'll load some pics shortly
