Well Looks like Fitz failed to do his job again! He couldnt even stack one team to give us a challenge looks like some decent teams though. As long as ihunt and tacklebox aren't on the same team everyone has a chance. As far as Dubbya goes hes been busy outfitting. Ill get ahold of him and tell him to sign in . Id say he will get us a couple kills this year and not be such a loser like last year.

I'm not to concerned about Dubbya. It's flyguy415 I haven't seen any post from him since last year unless I just missed them.

If he does and the rest do as well as last year, we will be crowned again. Any way it goes, it will be a blast defending our title!

I had every intention of shooting throughout the offseason, but that didn't happen. Just started back up last week. Sore for sure.

So I work at a fairly large university and while walking across campus a few days ago I noticed that a lot of the oaks were dropping a fair amount of acorns. They are not very big yet but the numbers were decent. Last year we had very few acorns not only on campus but also where I hunt up at my dad’s farm in northern MO. It was odd because some years you almost have to wear a football helmet to sit in an oak tree on my dad’s land. Then, last night I was playing ball with my 3 year old and noticed that the pecan hickory we have in our back yard had more nuts on it than it ever has. Probably twice as many as I can ever remember and I’ve lived there for eight years. Anyway it got me thinking, Maybe it’s a good year for nuts/acorns. How does the acorn crop look where you hunt this year? We hunt a lot of oaks and last year’s bad acorn crop coupled with the drought doing a number on our food plots sure took a toll.

Not all of the Oaks have acorns around here, but the ones that do seem to be loaded. It looks to me like the ones that are out in the pasture and have less competition have the a ton and the ones in the woods are sparse. White oaks that are in the timber dont have any as far as a have seen. Mostly reds and blacks.

I have noticed even the small oaks (which is what we have mostly) are loaded and dropping a lot already. I haven't hunted acorns in the past due to the property not having any but, it appears I'll be trying the two little oak groves we have this year!

I uploaded some pictures from my camera pull (3 cams) last weekend under the Trail Cams section (Covert Velvet Pull....And A Few Others). I have a few bucks I have located scouting that continue to evade the trail cams and a few more that made the season last year which I have yet to locate. I still have not got a single camera out on a 40 I hunt either.

I've been shooting a lot lately and making some last minute tweaks. I will be shooting 100g bloodrunner and killzones again this year.

I hadn't even thought about this but, am I still the captain this season or are we going to vote a new captain in. I'm fine either way.
