Way to go guys. We're supposed to have some pretty cool temps this weekend, so I may take a doe if given the chance. Of Course, this is one of the guys I'm really after. I've gotten quite a few pics of him out of velvet and I know where's he's been bedding.

I got the pics of my little doe on the scorecard. Unfortunately, I think I’m done hunting till early November. This is OK because we just don’t have very many nice bucks showing up on camera this year for some reason. Maybe the rut will get some of the neighbor’s bucks chasing the does on our land. Good luck everyone and keep up the good work. If I’m doing the math right we should be right around 300pts.

Trying for a doe first on Friday morning then on to a new property with big bucks. I've never hunted my property in the city but, there are pics of a couple big ones. A lot of potential on the city lot and "City Slicker" (pictured in an earlier post) is my first target.

We are building some steam so lets keep it going guys and gall!

Yeah the footage is pretty good. She was a long ways. To far to shoot but I got her. I ve been hunting that same doe for three years. She has a broken front leg that fused together so it doesnt move. I might have killed the smartest deer in the woods. All Im going to say is she was to far to shoot but I couldnt resist the temptation to shoot her. From the time the bow goes off to when the arrow gets there she takes a full step and bends down to eat. Thats why you dont shoot them at long distance it just takes the arrow to long to get there.

Congrats Clinton! Nice work team. I got out and hunted Saturday and Sunday night. I won't get out again until the 18th in which I will be hunting every weekend through after Thanksgiving with multiple weekends being extended. As for Saturday's hunt I sat on an oak flat that runs out to the edge of a secluded bean field I sat on. I saw 11 deer and 3 were 1 1/2 year old bucks.

Unfortunately I don't have much on camera I am presently excited about so I hunted this stand again Sunday night as there were a couple bucks I was hoping to get a better look at. My brother sat with me to film, but the front and steady rain prevented us from using it. I was also going to take a doe early until the rain kicked in (I had many opportunities). A 2+ hour drive on a Sunday night to get home is discouraging on harvesting a doe in the pm.

Anyway, the field was alive on all side and I saw at least 27 deer and 11 bucks. This is my best early season hunt ever. The first 9 bucks were 8 1 1/2's and a 2 year old so nothing impressive. There was lots of sparing going on with these little guys. With about 15 minutes left of legal shooting two nice bucks came out at 60 yards. They got within 45 and fed there for 30 minutes presenting multiple shot opportunities. The lead buck as a 135-140 inch 8. Great looking deer, but he needs a year for me. I'd love one of my brothers to take him. The second deer is a deer that I might bend my rules on later in the year. He is a solid 4.5 year old with a big blocky body. He too is an 8, but is in the 140-145 inch class. By bend the rules I mean that later in the year I would take him as I don't think he will put on much for inches in the next year if he were to make it. Again, although I don't have anything huge on camera right now I elected to hold out for I know there are a couple big boys around that have eluded my cameras and you also never know what will happen when the rut kicks off. The front really got the deer moving this past weekend so get out and play the weather and temp drops! Happy hunting!

My wife let me know the beans are coming out west of my property. She said she has already seen 6 deer, at least one of them being a buck, coming from there onto my property. I'm leaving work early, heading home and hitting the stand. Hopefully I can get some action tonight.

Was out this morning. I'll be out tomorrow.

Dang old hag I've been trying to shank for 3 seasons now busted me again. I believe she is proving as much if not more of a challenge than an old buck. Came in on my trail with her nose in the air. Disappeared behind some cedars and circled back around. I lost sight and when I regained sight, I was off guard and she busted me moving my hand.

So I moved my stand so that I can see farther out. Hopefully I'll see her coming next time.

Thanks Man. I really have to give you much thanks for what you thought me in topo scouting. Yesterday evening was the first time I scouted the property in person. I picked my spot almost to the tree with topo and satellite images. Hung my stand last night and killed this morning. It was awesome.
