@ Darth... No I didn't pick that name cuz I'm a fly fisherman, however, I have fly fished quite a bit in my life... Place like the white river in MO and AR, The Blue River in OK, and Beavers Bend in OK... I honestly do more crappie and catfishing these days as I live on Lake Texoma.. But that's kool your a trout guy... Glad to have you on the team.. Best of luck..

Wishing you all luck in the morning....

As promised. It's 6:40am and I've been settled in for 10 min now. Official sunrise here is 7:02am. Still feeling really good about this one.

Good luck to all and lets kill some deer!!

None. None at all. If it were rabbit season I would have been good to go on bringing home some sort of meat. Maybe next time.

Seen 6 doe/fawns and there was also a coyote running around. Beautiful morning in the timber.

Most excited for tonight sit. Focusing on finding the acorns. Pulled 2 more camera chips and put out some Big and J. No mature bucks on 1 camera. Other camera has been out a month and I was giddy in pulling chip. Needless toe ay something must be wrong with chip as no pictures took (Tried chip in another camera and wouldn't work either) I was getting 1000 pics a week on this cam and have some stud bucks on that cam I was hoping to get some daytime inventory off. Needless to say bummed out about camera, but thats life.

Got skunked last night. Sat a stand with perfect wind for entry. Was an intersection of 2 long ridges that are covered in oaks. It runs through multiple bedding areas out to corn fields (beans have turned 100% here). Problem is there were no acorns.Should of sounded like rain in there but instead I think I heard 5 fall all night. Just was too warm, weather in the 80's I think deer are less active. Wish I was hunting the next couple week days as the weather will be much more favorable.

I have decided to hunt differently this season. This just came about over the past week. I want meat in the freezer and I want a kill so bad it's ridiculous. Add to that I don't have the time I have in the past. So, I'm going to start hunting does over bait in a few spots until a couple weeks or so before rut then I'll start hunting bucks.

A friend of mine informed me yesterday he has a 200+ acre farm he has only been on once and no one else ha hunted it it years. It's his uncles land that his uncle farms. it has 120acres of soy bean and the rest is woods. I think we are going to study topo's and then scout it on a Friday evening and hunt it saturday. I'm hoping he wants to do this during Halloween week or mid November.

Just thought I would share all that with my team mates.

Good luck on the does sticknstringarchery! I won't be back in the woods until next saturday and sunday now. I'll get 4 hunts in next weekend and the weather will hopefully be better (not as warm).

It looks like some of the team is hitting the field. Tis the season! I spent the weekend shelling corn but saw several nice bucks from the combine and truck. That's good news given I've had very few pics. I did pull some cards and had a few shooters on cam. The recent rains have the clover and turnips rebounding nicely as well. The next three months should be fun! Keep the updates comin!

On a Windows machine using Firefox or IE; Right click on the avatar and do a “save image as” to your local machine. Then click Settings button on BH.com page | Edit Avatar | Click the Browse button and browse to where you saved the avatar file| Highlight file | Open | Save settings.

    That should do it.

One of my best buds got a trail cam pic during daylight of my #4 hit list buck. Have some trail cam pics of him so I was hoping he would stay by. He is hunting a public piece of river bottom about 1.5 miles away from where I last got him on camera.

Gotta love getting daylight pics of big bucks.

So when is everybody getting out again? My first hunt won’t be till the afternoon/evening of October 4th. We’ll be up at the cabin from the 4th thru the 7th.

I'll get to hunt this weekend. We're looking at a cool snap here so we may get a little daylight movement. Got some evening pis of an old roman nosed buck yesterday on clover. He won't score 140 but I think he's 6+ years old. It looks like he's going downhill but he's a brute!
