My season starts on the 15th, hopefully they stick to the same patterns their on now. I'm a little worried because i think my soybeans are on the verger of yellowing down.

If they are still using your soybeans you can try to go and seed some sort of oats over the top of them before this rain tomorrow. IWE have done it a few times with oats. Sometimes it works great and other times not at all. The turnips always grow but sometimes the oats wont.

I did overseed a mix around my stand locations 2 weeks ago today. It was a bag of Evolved Harvest Mega Plot with the addition of 2 lbs of Purple Top Turnips and 2 lbs of Dark Detriot Red Sugar Beets. Since we have had a steady dose of moisture, they have germinated and look to be coming up well. I also have the Vita Rack Boomin beans that I put out about a month after I planted the Soybeans, and they are still green. One of the more intriguing parts of that mix are the Cowpeas. They I found one plant that had podded out and had about a 6/7 inch long pod full of cowpeas, but the rest haven't made. I don't know if the dry weather caused them not to flower and produce pods, or if they are just running a little behind. Hopefully they are just a little behind. Either way, I do think I should have something in my plot that is attractive all season long. Hopefully.

Sky walker, I wasn't planning on planting any This season due to finances (thought I was good but ended up not so much) then lack of access to equipment then finally I thought I ran out of time. Turns out I had a turn in finances, a neighbor offered to bush hog and disk for me this weekend or next and I may just be able to find time to get a couple acre plots in. Things are looking good.

Now what to plant? Any suggestions guys?

Sticknstringarchery do we need to ask for a replacement for midlifecrisis so we have a full roster?

Hi Team 10! Drath, checking in.

I’m the alternate/replacement for MidlifeCrisis. My name is Dave, I live in St. Louis and will be hunting on 240 acres of privet land in northern central MO. I’m 44, married and father of a 2 ½ year old boy (yeah, I got off to a late start). I got back into bow hunting three years ago after about a 25 year layoff and I’m still looking for my first known kill with a bow. I stuck one way back when with a 40lb recurve but we were unable to find her. That’s one of many factors that led to me not bow hunting for so long. I bought my first new bow in 25years last month and I’m really looking forward to this season.

Our season starts September 15th but I will not be able to hit the woods till Oct. 4th-7th. Unfortunately I currently only have two weekends scheduled to hunt before firearms season. Along with the early October hunt we are going up two days early for firearms season so I’ll get some good rut time in the woods with the bow then. If I don’t have anything tagged by then I’ll be able to schedule some trips for after gun season. My wife told me last week that she really wants some more venison in the freezer this year so I guess that means I’ll need to hunt some more.

The land I’ll be hunting is owned by my dad. It’s about 60% big woods and about 40% pasture land. In fact, the neighbors have permission to run their cattle on about 160 acres, much of which is still huntable woods. In return they take care of a few cattle for dad so the freezer stays full of beef. That means no food plots in that 160 but the other 80 is fenced off and we have some nice plots in there. This year the beans (about 3-4 acres) burned up but have been replaced with winter wheat. We also have 4 smaller plots of cow peas, milo, clover mix. We also have broadcast some clover in other areas. Oh yeah, we threw out some turnips too. We put up a new stand this year on a major entrance route to the food plot 80 acres. I’m really looking forward to hunting that stand. IMO we should have had a stand there long ago.

I don’t have any “hit list” pics but dad always has a few shooters running around. Last year an 8pt, 9pt, and 10pt were taken along with a few does.

I may be able to work up an avatar but it’s gonna take a few days and I’ll need some ideas.

I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone on the team.

Go get ‘em Nocked and Locked!

Welcome Drath, glad to have you aboard. Now, let's get back to that Avatar. I'm thinking If we can find a pic of or someone take a pic of a bow at full draw taken from right behind the nock with the peep, sight and a deer with the 20 pin on a deer would be great!

Stick, I like where you are going with that idea but that's a lot of imagery to put in a small avitar. Maybe a team banner for our signature line would be better? Here's a slight twist on your idea in a banner. How about a bow with arrow at full draw "nocked" on the left side. The background fades to the right into the 9 and 10 ring of a target where the pin is "locked" on the X. Instead of a plain X for the bullseye it's the roman numeral 10 style X. Then some text that reads Nocked and Locked Team X with the X being the Bullseye. It might take me a while but it think I could do something like that.

Let me say sorry for misspelling your name in my last post. I went back and fixed it. I really like that idea. I'm have no idea how to do any of the but, love photography and could probably shoot a pic as I described. Maybe with a 3D deer in the sights anyways. Lol

If you can take that pic, PM it to me and I'll see what I can so with it. I'm no photoshop expert but I dabble.
