HOYT, thats a pretty cool story. 10 years ago we had some elk get loose from a farm in the area. They still havent found all of them. It sure seems that it doesnt take animals long to go back to there instincts.

Thanks for the catch Christine. I totally missed that. I have corrected it in the scorecard, so we have a 107 6/8 now. I thought he was a little bigger than that, but I figured that 100 points could be the difference in the top spot, so I'm still glad it took the shot.

Wow, that's pretty cool. Wonder if the deer farm wants to charge him a trophy fee :)

    Where was that at?

How's the hunting going out there? I've been out of the woods since I killed my buck last Thursday. Archery season re-opened today, so I hope I can get back out there and pick off on of the big boys on my place. I can't wait to see the updated scorecard. We should still be doing well.

I've only been once since my kill. I had a doe come in behind me. I'm hunting the same spot just a different tree a little farther off the trail. I was in way to close. I'm going to try the layering clothing thing in the morning since I still haven't decided what I'm going to do about heavier outer layer. I am hoping that this rut action and Tinks 69 pulls a decent buck in. We shall see what happens in the morning though. If all else fails, I should have does coming past and if a buck isn't following, I'll have to take out a doe for the freezer. I would love to put more points up and will try hard to.

Good luck to anyone else hitting the stand and happy Thanksgiving to all team!

Got a question team, I've noticed on the score board that people are shooting a 2nd buck with a bigger score than the first... They are getting their scores changed to the bigger score.. Does it work this way? If so I guess I'm asking that if I shoot a bigger buck is acceptable to add my new score?

It's not supposed to work that way. I'll contact Fitz and see if they are for sure. The reason they are not supposed to is that some states have a one buck limit. Are you sure they are not measuring wrong and proving they did to add the actual measurement?

Quick update. Hunted all day Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and today. I as well as my family (dad and 2 brothers) have seen almost no action. Combined under 10 bucks and average number of deer seen is way down. Many days I've been known to see 40-60 a day during WI gun season (opening day) but this year is not the case. I know of at least 5 good bucks shot on neighboring properties as of last night. I've seen 3 bucks; all 1.5 year olds. I brought my bow out the first two days, however, since then I've just had the gun.

Been frustrating end of the season with the theme being trespassing. Warm temps and swift winds haven't helped much either. Did get a couple bucks on camera yesterday that showed us there are still a couple good one left that the sea of orange hasn't claimed. Good luck to the team moving forward!

I've decided to not take another buck this year due to a lack of mature buck sightings on the farm. Wouldn't you know I had 5 deer walk by tonight and all were bucks!! I questioned my commitment a few times but made it through.

What is everyone up to? How are things going and what are everyones plans moving forward? I may have called it a season. Work is piling up and I need to hunker down here for a bit. May slide out and get a doe if time permits. Hoping to put my new dehydrator to use!

Anyone have luck getting in contact with our other team members? What deer have members said they shot or posted pics of that we still need to get posted on the scorecard page?

Well team, I can see as of today we have reclaimed the top spot.. Hope we can keep it that way... I feel like if we get a couple more doe's on the board.. A buck or two that we have already had team members report to us they harvested, we need them on the score card... Noticed they for some reason didn't list Clinton's doe on the score card for some reason.. And we need dubbya to quit guiding for like one day and put some brown on the ground. If all this comes into play I am sure we will take this thing.. It's been a pleasure to be on this team and a part of this folks.... Nicely Done Killers!

Put Dubbs in the good spots so I don't have to give him any more grief on FB about his lack of deer. ;)

Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA and thanks Clinton for keeping everyone up-to-date.

First of all, congrats to everyone on Team 10, you guys are doing an excellent job and putting down some great deer (even the girl). :D

I didn't get to hunt a single day with a bow for my elk or deer in Wyoming as I was guiding hunters all fall. I guess that's the curse of being a guide. I did shoot a decent muley with a rifle on my one afternoon to hunt before the season ended.

I finally finished guiding hunters on November 13 and headed straight to Kansas. I hunted hard for 6 days and finally had an opportunity on a big deer 8 minutes before I was going to pull my stand down and head home for thanksgiving. I took a shot that I knew better than to take since I was 12 but the frustration of not hunting all fall and the anxiousness of it being my last day overtook me. The shot would have been perfectly fine but I shot the buck when he hesitated, instead of stopping him. He took a step towards me at an already quartering-to angle and the arrow went in just in front of the hind quarter and lodged in the off-side hind leg. I backed out and waiting 9hrs before going back. I had about 45 minutes of light left and tracked excellent blood for a 100 yards and it got dark. I called my extremely understanding wife and told her I wasn't going to make it back for our first thanksgiving (just got married in August). The next morning I went in a daylight and followed blood for 550 yards. The buck never bedded due to the arrow being lodged in his hind quarter and most likely being pursued by coyotes. He entered 320 acres of 12' cedars and CRP grass. I grid searched the area with another guy as best we could for 5 hrs and found nothing. Two days later, a fried rounded up a search party and they looked for an entire day to no avail.
It was a rough 10hr drive knowing I missed thanksgiving and lost a deer but it was my own fault. With that said, I'm heading to Clinton's next week and am looking forward to it, pray for snow!!!!

Hey guys, my hunting life has been almost non existent since my kill. I've been in once and saw one doe that sit. I was planning on going this past Sunday but, guess what my 3 year olds decided to flush. My wedding band so I spent time tearing the toilet up and not even finding it. Jess, known here as Sticknstringswife, unexpected hobby turned into a business that we are both involved in (apparently we are both talented photographers or so everyone tells us) and it has taken off pretty good! I have had several solo after work shoots and we have had most of our weekends booked. I guess Christmas time is pretty busy for picture taking people. I have enjoyed it but, I missed the first rut pretty much completely and only have a few weeks left to get it done. I'm not complaining though. This picture taking is bringing in some extra $.

Dubbs, I hate to hear about your buck man, congrats on the marriage if I missed that somehow I am sorry! I hope you get it done on your trip! Good luck to the team and I am still going to try to put some bone on the board for us.
