Oh and official word about pic is, there are no real rules as far as a time frame. They must be in by Jan 15th in order to count. That's pics and measurements on bucks.

I'll be back out Monday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. So there is a chance I'll shank a doe!!

I've got my pics up on the official score card.

It was a crazy, and great morning hunting. I got into the stand plenty early and was completely settled in by about 6:15. Nothing much early and I was feeling like it was going to be a slow day. But it didn't take too long before the day got a little crazy. I had two young bucks work in on me and they both presented shots, but their not what I'm looking for. Along with them there was a doe or button, couldn't tell. I would have shot, but that deer didn't ever give me a shot, but was well within range. About 5 minutes later, this do starts coming in, and was walking quick enough, I couldn't get my cameras on, but as I've said in the past, I won't pass a deer if I can't get it on film. I'm not at that point in my hunting career yet. She came right into the salt like that my stand is hung near. She stepped right in and gave me the shot. I aimed pretty high due to the steep angle and released. The arrow hit her high in the vitals and exited about mid chest on the other side. It was a clean pass through. She Stumbled forward about 10 feet where she hit the ground and expired fairly quickly. It was a double lung and I believe I actually caught just a bit of spine. Moments later, here come another doe and a fawn. I was hoping that the deer I killed wasn't this fawns mother. Both deer were curious and hung around for a few minutes, then wandered off. Never saw the doe again, but that fawn came back several times and checked her out and bawled a few times. I really felt pretty bad about that. I don't intentionally shoot does with fawns. I know they will be kicking these fawns off in the next few weeks anyway, but it's really not what I wanted to do. Hopefully the fawn will be fine. While that fawn was milling around, a couple more young bucks came in, and checked her out, followed by a nice 2.5 year old 8 pt that hung out for about 10 minutes checking her out. He gave me several shot opportunities, but he's not what I'm after. He probably would have scored somewhere around 110 inches. After things settle down a little, I could hear and see a couple bucks sparing/fighting. They were about 80 yards away through some timber. They went at it pretty hard for quite a while. They were a little more aggressive that the bucks I saw sparing a couple weeks ago. Man I love being in the woods this time of the year. In total, I saw at least 13 different deer. I couldn't tell if the bucks that were fighting were the same as I had seen before. Great morning to be in the stand. I'm heading back out shortly, and looking for some bone!!!!!

Missed a doe tonight. Drew on her at 10 yards and got busted. She ran to the bean field. I thought she was 40 yards. She thought she was 30. She was right. Back in the saddle tomorrow morning. Wind is right for a primo spot. We shall see.

    Congrats killers!

I still can't find an antlerless deer for anything. I'm going to start looking under rocks. :(

Great work everyone! I love the morning hunt review. It's been a tough weekend for me as I've sat wishing I was hunting. Cold front her in WI has me fired up. I've had friends visiting all weekend and therefore didn't get out any. 6 Days until I'm back out; it can't come soon enough. I'll get out both mornings and nights and just decided to pick up 4 more stands for new property that was recently explored. I'll be looking to hang and hunt 2 of the sets.

So we have 1 buck kill, but how many doe kills do we have?

Passed on a young 10 point this morning. He will go 130" but he was obviously only 2.5. Had great genetics so I pray he lives til next year. He now has the nickname "hall pass". Hope I don't regret the pass but just couldn't pull the trigger knowing I wouldn't get to hunt the rut.

Saw the tail and outline trot across the field this morning 30 min before light. Heard one (maybe same one) crunching corn behind me. High hopes

Well, it was a good morning in the stand. Saw a momma/fawn traveling what I have thought to be a travel corridor for a couple seasons now. Confirmation is always a great thing. I got down about 9:30 thinking the morning activity was over. Went and checked to make sure my climber I left out was still on the tree an it was. Found a good spot to hunt the travel corridor I saw the doe/fawn duo walking this morning. That will be good later on for bucks during rut. On my way out of the stand I put my pack beside a split pine that is surrounded by saplings that is about 15yd from the stand I hunted this morning. I looked in it and there were no deer. I came back to pick up my pack and I be danged if there wasn't a doe bedded. She blew at me as she was getting up. Off she went. This area has to be a day time staging/bedding area for after they eat. I was gone all but, 15 min. She had to have passed right by my stand just after I got down. I now know to stay in longer. Good thing is she didn't bust me on stand. I'll hunt it again this coming week and hopefully take a doe out!

I enjoyed the stand texting this morning. Hopefully Liwhitetail had some luck.

Well, my dad and I are totally bummed out about the deer population on his farm right now. We both hunted hard for 4 days last week/weekend and saw zero deer. That’s unheard of for his land. Last year there was a slight decline in numbers but we were still seeing deer 50% of our sits. They may have been 80-100yds out but we saw deer. The only deer we saw for the four days I was up there was an 8pt dead in a ditch. Dad said he saw a few deer when he was out doing chores and a few when he was fishing on the neighbors land before I got up there. I guess it’s a combo of drought, weak food plots (due to drought), Blue Tongue (more drought), and a nice cornfield about a half mile down the road. Hopefully we’ll get some deer back when they get that corn out. I was really fired up about this season. Our food plots are bigger than ever due to the work we put in this spring but the drought screwed those up. We put up a new stand in a great location, I got a new bow, and like I said, I was really fired up. We always see deer. Now I don’t know what to think. I’ll be back up there in early November and give it another shot. Great work by all those who are killin’.

Hey guys a friendly reminder. When you post your kills on the score card. Make sure you post date and time of the kill. Fits will be leaving off everyone who does not post this information when he tallies the scores each week. Lets not keep a detail this small from keeping our score from climbing.

    Thanks, Doug

Looking forward to getting out this weekend for 1st time in two weeks. Its been killing me. Corn is coming off and 2 new good bucks on cam. Not my number 1-2 bucks which I'm hoping to get again, but still excited. My brother tweaked two new sets for us and I'm looking to hang and hunt 2 other new ones. Forecast is 60% rain on Saturday but I hope thats not the case.

Anyone got out since the morning chats we all had with the few guys in the stand the other morning? Not liking weekend forecast, liking it even less since its the only time I can hunt. As of yesterday, Friday and Sunday were a 70% chance of rain and Saturday 90% chance of thunderstorms. Hoping thats not going to be the case.
