Well yesterday I shot for what will probably be the last time before I hit the woods on Thursday. Last night I picked out my best three arrows and replaced the practice heads with my NAP Killzones. I put turkey tips (old broadheads) on another pair and small game heads on another pair (for hunting groundhogs around the cabin). My bleat can, grunt call, and turkey calls are in my day pack along with my knives, flash light, and spotlight (edit: just to be clear, the spotlight is for tracking not shining). I washed all my camo and dried it with two Dead Down Wind fabric sheets. All that’s left is a quick trip to the grocery store on Wednesday and I’ll be all set.
Man, I can’t wait to hit the woods. It’s all I can think about.

well guys I shot two 8's yesterday one at 8 am from a blind and one at 5 from a stand on another property just your average 2.5 and 3.5 y/o deer for the area. I'm tickled pink though its public land where you literally see a dozen hunters a night sometimes. Guess all my pre season work and cam checks pulled through as I saw a ton of deer. I will get them scored up soon I'm butchering them now too hot to hang.

I’m gonna be completely useless today at work. I’m gonna try to leave at 3:30 Thursday morning to get to the farm for a late morning hunt (7:30ish). Dad wants to move a couple buckets of crappie from one pond to another so I may take an afternoon to help with that but for the most part it’s gonna be four days of tree time. He’s been up there since Sunday so he may have the fish moved already. If you gave your number, I’ve got you in my contacts list. If you get a text from drath this weekend, it should be good news!

No filming today. Wife got some disturbing news from the doc today guys and gall. Prayers would be appreciated. I go on second shift next week so I may be able to get in a stand a few times in the mornings. Good luck to everyone who is hunting this weekend.

    Sending a prayer Sticks!

I was out Monday morning and evening and Tuesday morning. I've seen zilcho antlerless deer while in the stand. :(

I did have a nice ten pointer come in, even bedded down for about an hour. But, I need an antlerless deer before I can shoot a buck.

He's about 27 yards away here. My cell phone seems to have shaved off several tines and about 20". But he bedded down right there so I had plenty of time to check out his rack. He'd be about 140". He has a huge body too. Of course, the chance that I'll see him again if and when I get my antlerless deer is slim-to-none. :(

I can't hunt again until Saturday. I'm jonesing already.

My wife will mot know the results for some month or so and thank you for any prayers.

Good news and bad news from work. Bad news, I hate second shift but, we have lost the other two shift supervisors and second needs some whipping into shape. Apparently I have a reputation for that already. So, second shift here I come. Good news is, I get to hunt mornings for a couple weeks at least. More good news, Monday looks really nice. Low of 46 and the moon will be two days from the end of last quarter moon so I'm hoping it will be at least doe down!

Thought liwhitetail got a couple 8pts. Aren't we supposed to be seeing pics and isn't it supposed to be on the scorecard? Not trying to start a stink, just confused...

Yes he should have them up (at least pics) by now. The score (as far as I know) should also be up. I'm not sure if there is a time frame on the measurement. I'll find out!
