Good luck on the Elk! Season doesn't start in Ohio until September 30th. Thats probably a good thing tho, because I haven't done a thing to prepare for the season except shoot my bow alot. And do several 3d shoots

Our season kicks off here in OH Sept. 30th There are a few counties though that open for a special CWD season on Sept. 9th but they are west of my area
This year has been really weird on moisture here in Utah. We usually around the third driest state. This summer and winter were pretty wet ones for us. Last week I think it rained on us every day.
I remember seeing someone post a deer they killed last year in Ohio, but it was like 2 weeks before normal season opener. I thought "this guy must be a real dum-dum to post a deer shot out of season." then I found out about the 3 counties doing that early opener, and I felt like a dum-dum
Yea I had no idea on that either. I’m shooting quite a bit getting ready for the opener. Reality is though that my daughter will get the first shot. And then 2 Australians that I met through my podcast are coming in to visit the first and second week of October. One of them wants to hunt so I’ll try and get him on something. And all of that is probably a good thing for me. It will keep me out of my prime spots until later in October. My main excitement is for this guy below. After I shot my buck on this property last year, this fella I call Big AL showed up a few times. Hung a camera there earlier this month and it malfunctioned and took about 3000 pictures in two days. But, one of those pictures was him! Granted it’s a night pic in august which means very little other than he’s still alive..but a guy can dream of a big 8 cant he?! As of now I have zero target bucks here in Ohio. Hoping a few I passed last year will show up soon. Our cell cams in IL have produce a few that will be worth taking a look at. One is a big 8 and the other is a 150-160 10pt. Hoping the rut will bring some newbies in also.
