checking in! dnoodles I hunt 40 acres of private in WI thousands of public in MI, IN, and maybe IL and if I have time, I'll hit my little spot in the middle of Mark Twain in MO
Checking in from central Indiana. 16 acres behind the house, 80 across the road. I probably won’t have any decent bucks pop up on camera until mid to late October.
Checking in from Central Arkansas, hunting public exclusively. I am pumped for this season, my oldest son started bowhunting last year and this year, he has gotten over his fear of heights and will be good to hunt from a tree stand. I have been hunting partners with @Jezzy670 the last few years and finally convinced him to join the forum and contest this year. We are friends in real life, but sworn enemies in the contest.
A few of the public land target bucks for this year. I would love it if my son kills that huge spike on the left. Antler restrictions make it illegal for anyone not a youth hunter, but it is clearly a mature deer. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I am fairly certain this guy in the back is the same one I posted here above. Has same really high G2s and his main beams swoop around to only like 3" apart in the front: better shot here:
Here’s two I went a couple rounds with last year. Got picked off by the one sided buck the second time I saw him, and no clear shot on the other. The 10 came in on my weak side and couldn’t get a clear shot. The second time I saw him, he stayed about 50 yards away with a doe in some thick stuff and she took him the wrong way. Hope this one sided buck made it and has both sides this year.
I wasn't going to, but then you did, so there's that. Mainly to show the giant spike I hope my son kills.
Checking in from west central Texas. I'm a rural small town pastor and small time cattle rancher. I've got a 26 acre property that we live on and run our cattle. I've only seen does to this point and I'm generally good for at least a doe in the contest. I've got access to another larger property in a neighboring county that I've not had time to even look at this year ... it's been way too hot to even think about getting out scouting this summer!
Checking in from northern ohio/ Indiana border. Glad to be on the team! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
These are the stands that @Jezzy670 and I set up. The second one is 15 yards of the trail the bucks in the trail cam photo are using. The first stand is the one in the crusing spot along the lakeshore coming out of the slough. It should be an awesome spot for late Oct-Nov to catch cruising bucks.
