Present, and accounted for! So, are we just team 1, or is someone going to pick a name. Hell, I got to bust my arse in the next few weeks, finding some flocks up north there. I'm going through hell to get this done this year. They didn't pick me for the lottery, so I looked up how many surplus licenses there were for that area. 5 one weekend, and 2 the next! I will be trying to get one of those 7, however I have some more tricks up my sleeve for the backup plan. I will get this done! lol.
yo sorry guys, I'm here! I didnt know all this was brewin! Just got my tag in the mail yesterday... its on!
I drew a 5th season tag in IL which is pretty much worst case unless the winter drags out. But.... I have 2 new turkey havens to hunt, so we'll see which way it falls!
I have landowner permits so I have all seasons to work with. Since I'm going at it with my bow this year I'll probably be comin home from school every weekend to hunt so I can increase my time in the woods. When are the rest of ya huntin?
my season isnt until May 7 - 14. Which REALLY sucks, but I'll try my hardest. I'll probably take a few days off to get myself put in front of something because calling is going to be way less effective.
Same here. I can only find tags for the last few seasons. They are there, I just need to find a way to adapt and overcome. I'm still trying to find a new bow. lol. Can someone tell me why I don't want a pass through shot with my arrows? I will be shooting a broadhead with a 2 3/4" cut. Why do I care if it passes through, or not?
I think the reason you don't want a pass through is that if the arrow stays in the turkey can't flap it's wings and fly away, and also there's the chance that you pin the turkey to the ground. Regardless, if you put a good shot on the turkey it's going to die, but if the arrow doesn't pass through it could make retrieval easier? I'm not 100% sure if this is accurate, but it makes sense.
MNKK, If we get you in that Air Raid, then you won't even think about not passing through, just make a good shot and you will be just fine. A 2.5 inch hole will help too.
Well I just got to looking and it looks like I have from April 6th-May 7th to try and get a bird on the ground, which amounts to 4 weekends of hunting if I come home from school every weekend.
Getting them on the ground was the idea wasn't it? It would be kind of fun to shoot them out of a tree though. :d
I will be hunting PA, around 3 mornings a week for the entire season. We (Rob, myself, and a few other friends) will be doing plenty of filming as well. Should be an interesting season. I am a little dry on names at the moment.
