Word on the street goes as follows...

Freak Daddy was seen in daylight, this AM, coming out of a gully and crossing a road 1/2 mile from my properties. First time he has been seen since July. Damn good news.

I'm not sure what's going on but this morning was not normal for Nov. 6th. I got in the stand about 6am and waited til 6:30 then did some rattling. I waited 30min, no deer. tried again no luck. For the last 2 years in this stand I've had deer running in as soon as I hang up the antlers. I saw 3 doe about 80yds out but no bucks following.

On my way out I kicked up 3 different groups of 4 doe and 1 group of 3 and no bucks following them. This is not normal for this farm during this time of the year. I'm going out all day either monday/tuesday or tuesday/wednesday.

The weather is crapolla out there right now boys. 70 degrees. Packers game will be watched instead of hunting....unless it turns into a blowout.

Went out on a quick hunt today after the Packers suckfest. Spooked 2 does after getting barked out of my blind by a collie. Pathetic day.

Went out for the 23rd time today...

Had FD Jr. come in after a rattling sequence to 60 yards and hang up. I tried grunting at him and got nothing. He limped off pretty badly.

    52 deer on 23 hunts, 24 does, 7 fawns, 10 bucks, 11 unknown, 2 shots, 1 kill

finally saw some Rut Activity this Wednesday. Passed on a couple 120's ish bucks , I know there are bigger out there and hoping these guys make it though the Bull **** Shot gun season.

Shot was at 23.5 yards and basically cut the heart from the pipes. Passed through and went 60 yards and piled up. I love shooting from the ground. !!

Well guys, I have been hunting often for a couple weeks now but haven't seen a single shooter buck. The weather has been ridiculously warm for over a week now and it's raining today. :( The ammount of standing corn around here doesn't seem to be helping much either.

I will be hunting as often as I can through the end of Nov though so hopefully I can still connect on a good buck. The last nice buck I killed was on Nov 25th a couple years ago so there is stil time.

Whacked a doe this morning. Saw a buck coming in behind her, he was fergie clause material. So.....the doe took one for the team.

Hung/tweaked a bunch of stands today, then sat the back ridge stand without a deer sighting.

50 points! I put a doe down. I need to figure out how to get the pics from my video camera(digital was at home) onto my mac. I'll tell the story later but I passed up a 120's 10pt, I hope I don't regret it. I've got to go to dinner more later.
