nice job guys.... hunting report: no pre-rut activities that i've seen in WI this past weekend *smh* ....gonna test my luck in SE Missouri this Fri till next week Fri....1 full week of nothing but hunting; so I hope to see something nice... :D
I got a nice 130" on my camera from Oct 20th. He was working a scrape pretty good. His neck was swelled up so I'm guessing this weekend with the cooler temps, things are going to get good.
I passed a small 10point this AM and heard chasing and grunting and a couple buck roars yesterday at 330 Things are heating up !
had a few close calls this week, had to go out after work, so not gettin into the woods till about 8 am. Did some readjusting after i was done this AM, if things stay consistant, i should have a doe down in a coupla days. Then its time to start workin on the big boys
I have been letting the does walk as each has had a tailgater. Hunted about 8 hours a day for the last 10 days and have yet to see a shooter. Cameras tell me I have guessed wrong stand a couple times The next 10 days should be really good I hope to punch my buck tag and then take a doe.
I didn't hunt this weekend even though the weather was much cooler than its been all year. I wanted to hang out with my wife *gasp* (lol) this weekend since I will be leaving Friday to spend 11 days in Illinois. I am going to hunt on Halloween evening and then that will probably be it here at home until I get back from IL. Got a report from my buddy that hunts the farm in IL, he saw 4 150"+ bucks this weekend. Things are heating up and I can't wait to get there!!!
Good looking buck Gutone. Congrats. I put a good one down this morning. I'm going to score him later, but guessing 140-150. He's a real neat looking deer. 5 brow tines.
I was off all this past week and sightings were at a minimum being I saw a total of 4 deer, and I shot the fourth this afternoon on a doe. The only buck I've seen all week is a little fork horn so I'm pretty sure the ones on cam are MIA somehow, but I hope to still get something with head gear before this is over. I guess 50 pts is better than nothing though.
nice deer guys.....just got back from MO....sat all week letting a quite a few deer pass along...actually bumped a nice 8pt'r on the atv so I knew my chances were gone...since it came down to my last day, I decided to nail whatever that came into range...happened to dart a forker at 40yds....nothing impressive but I'm loving my new arrows though...going back up to WI this weekend to see if i can get a trophy....
He's on the board. 151 2/8. Got him yesterday morning @ 7:40. He was the only deer I saw on a pretty windy day. I watched him for about 5 minutes before he came in the open. 35 yard shot, double lung. He only made it about 50 yards. That's the best sound in the world when you hear them crash! He smelled like a stock yard. He was rutting pretty hard.
Nice going guys! I didn't have any luck in IL. The weather was just not on our side. I had several great encounters with big bucks but I just couldn't get em killed. I'm super bummed about not tagging out up there. Hopefully things will work out better next year.
Killed another big one in Illinois...with a shotgun. Grossed 147". He was a real bruiser. Passed up some real nice ones with my bow, but this was the one I was after. Too bad he crossed my path during gun season, not bow. Been real quiet for our team. Are we done?
Congrats justhunt ! Nice buck ! I shot another buck but also with a gun. I may do some lat season bow hunting but the freezer is full so I doubt it.
just got back from MO again for the holidays and I passed up on 2 does and a spiker....just not going my way this year...however, I will be out for late season....probably 2 or 3 more weekend hunts and I'll be done....no more vacay days too...
