Well boys I found new motivation to kick er down. Just got a pic of a giant at 830 AM. I can't hunt tomorow morning because I will be guaranteed under the weather (my buddy is home from Iraq and we're going out) but then it is game on!
Skunked this am.. wind was blowing pretty good. I did whack another doe the other morning, not sure If I mentioned that or not. Backstraps and eggs with toast this morning after my hunt. NOM NOM!!! I have until Jan 1st to put down a buck!! When does your guys season end?
First off, Congrats again LBG! Sparrowhawk, our season ends in WI the second weekend of January (I think) but I generally give up bow hunting after our gun season which is this coming weekend. Basically just to finally give the deer some rest. If however I have not killed one by then with bow or gun I may go this year depending on the sign. I've got 4 days for me to have a fighting chance at a buck Last Thursday night I had a problem with the crossbow as it would not lock back so unfortunately I couldnt go til Friday evening. When I checked my camera I had a pic of that big 8 again Friday morning at 11 am! I would have been sitting there!!! So that frustrated me, but gives me hope he'll be thru again
Well my KS tag went unfilled, it would take me forever to type in all the details but long story short it was really hot and windy - big bucks just weren't moving... Biggest buck I actually passed was probably in the 110 range... On next to last day I saw two solid 140's - but just couldn't get them close enough.... Working on my SD tag now... Problem is that gun season opens this weekend, which usually had a pretty negative impact on movement in my area, but I'll keep pluggin away and see what happens... Good luck everyone!

Well is anyone still out and about chasin em? I myself gave up, but I may try going out for our doe only hunt this weekend
The rifle hunters last chance to hunt bucks was last weekend so was hopeful that I could make it out this weekend - but we got a nasty blizzard instead. I have until the end of the year - so we'll see what happens...
Well guys.. The season is now ended in MN and I'm sorry to say that I didn't help the team much...I got skunked archery, rifle and muzzleloader.. Looks like a nice bowl of tag soup this year. Had a hoot getting out and getting my son out with me...My 8 yr old daughter is already chomping at the bit to go out with me next year. Congrats to all who got one this year...If anyone is up in the MN area, give me a holler and we'll go shooting...Happy New Year everyone....
