Sorry guys was out this morning and all I saw was a guy traspassing on his mountain bike. After a brief and slightly heated discussion he was persuaded to leave, but that ended the morning hunt.
Any updates boys? Last night I had a very exciting hunt. Saw 25 deer, 7 of which were bucks but the biggest was only about 105 inches, but they were all sparring with each other and one did a snort wheeze which was sweet. They all ended up meandering and staying within 40 yards from me, along with two does and a fawn. I could've shot either of the does but decided against it with all the bucks around. So hopefully tonight things work out for me to kill one of them does
Made it out tonight - didn't see anything... Got all bit up and a piece on my stand broke - so not the best night.... Going to try and hand a new stand or two this weekend if I can get out... Harvest is going well so if things keep pace, mid to late October could be pretty good....
Got er! Haven't been out since last thursday, because I had a wedding I was in and my buddy is using his crossbow til wednesday I hope, then I'll be out again with a vengeance!
Had a great sit tonight! Even though I didn’t have a deer within several hundred yards….. I saw a fair amount of deer including a couple of bucks piling into a hay field about half a mile from my stand… No real way to setup on them on their way to the field so I’m thinking about taking my ground blind and decoy and setting up next to one of the round bales in the field… Figure I shouldn’t spook them to bad even if things don’t go to plan AND even if that’s the case, I’ll just push them towards the cover around my other stands….
I got out last night with little luck, but tomorrow is a new day and it sounds like it should be a great day to hunt. Unfortunately I can only shoot does because it is our tzone and I also need to check the regs to see if I can actually shoot them with the bow. I'm 99% sure I can and it would only make sense but I must check. Otherwise I guess there have been a few decent buck sightings by my grandpa and uncle so maybe I will finally see one lol
opening day is tomorrow for me sign by my stand is great im hoping that ill get at least 50 points for our team this weekend

Well I had quite the encouraging day today. First I finally put out my cameras after I found some smoking hot scrapes and some giant fresh rubs and found more where I just put my ground blind, which is where I've killed all 3 of my head mounters. Then tonight I sat on the west end of our property and could hear a deer coming behind me in a thick little stand of pines between the marsh. I could hear him making a scrape then he turned and walked back to about 100 yards and I only caught a glimpse of giant chocolate horns! It wasn't a great look but without a doubt a shooter. So now I am pumped for Monday when our doe-only season is done so I can really pursue this guy
Its good to hear most of you guys are starting to see some good activity. 10 days and my plane touches down in ohio. Hopefully I can get some points on the board then.
Well the weather is starting to look nice here in Michigan. Its that time of year where things feel like they are about to start heating up. I noticed a fresh scrape in front of my stand this morning. The temp stayed at 32 degrees untill 9am. I love being able to see my breath when I bowhunt. I haven't hunted once since not recovering the doe I shot. From here on out I'll be hunting hard. This am was a good one. I ended up taking a friend to a stand I call the "nanny stand" It's a real hot trail where I constantly get does moving through. I was filming him in hopes that he would harvest his first whitetail with a bow.We had two young bucks come in this morning but both never presented shots. And I saw about 10 does in a freshly cut cornfield. I'll let you guys know how it goes tonight........hows it looking for everyone else???
Well didn't see anything on the after noon watch will be out Sunday morning then i wont be able to get out until Friday
Was out with my boy tonight ans saw 7 total, all of which were well within range...Rifle range that is( 140 yards)....Had a good time watching them and making a game plan for the next outing...
Well I had anywhere from 4-6 bucks show up right after shooting light was gone but light enough to see they were bucks and nice ones at that, at least 4 were and they each came within a yard of the base of my ladder. So it's encouraging to know they're around, but frustrating since its after hours
