I got three plots put in yesterday afternoon and evening and it rained through the night and this morning. I mowed some trails with the tractor on Sunday at one of my properties and on the way back out of the farm there were already 10 or 12 deer using the trail I had just mown an hour earlier. I mowed three trails that intersect 30 yards from a stand and come together at a kill plot. I still have mock rub trees to get put in and another couple of plots to get put in, but getting closer finally. I still need to get some cameras out also.

no hunting for me this weekend, heading to MI to clean out and prep my camper for the season. Will throw out some cams to do a general area survey, but there's not much patterning to be done in this area.

Near Edmore on 46; our campsite is right on the Isabella/Montcalm county lines; I can and have shot deer in one county and had them die in the other.

Nice. That’s like an hour directly north of where we hunt. My wife’s uncle has a cabin in Lakeview we’ve stayed at in the past.

I finished plots last evening and it has been raining all morning and is supposed to rain most of the day tomorrow. Then we are supposed to get back into the 80's for highs next week. That should be perfect to get things up and growing. All of my friends that got plots put in early are also replanting due to drought and two weeks of 100 degree temps. Field crops were just starting to come out this week also before the rain set in.

Alright y'all, I'm back online. I have been having all kinds of internet and cell phone issues lately. But less than a week and I'll be sitting in the woods and I cannot wait. The deer movement has been getting better as of this last week. The couple of shooters that I have are still active and coming through almost daily. I have a crap ton of wild hogs up on the lease that'll I'll be chasing as well. I just need this weather to cooperate a little bit and cool off.

One more week for me as well. I haven't had alot of buck activity though. But I am seeing plenty of does and my philosophy is always, where the girls are, the boys will be.

In MI, checked and hung some additional cams last weekend, walked an area deeper than we usually go b/c it was historically too thick to hunt (old clear cut) and it's starting to open up with a ton of good runs and pockets of acorns...problem was some guy has SOAKED the area with cams and several stands. I'll have to take a pic and show you these hillbilly-assed homemade stands. Looks like he takes 1" galvanized, makes a 3' hoop, then somehow makes a spider web of old car seatbelts as a platform. And the ladders are frankenstein of steel pipe, welded on steps, and step ladder sections.

We tested the cams and the light came on so they are active. We have no idea where he's accessing b/c it's not from the same south side as us so he's bushwacking from east or north. Long way to go for him, especially hauling all that junk.

Sorry I have not been in our thread more often. Posted a bit in the live from the stand thread but never check the team thread as often. Anyway I have had several sits for far this year and some very close oppurtunities already. Actions is starting to pick up in the areas I hunt. Pressure brings them way back to where I hunt. I think the closest spot I have to parking is probably 1 mile. Don't see many hunters where I hunt. Hopefully I will be out tomorrow and at least on Saturday. Still waiting to knock down the first deer of the season. Best of luck team.

Lots of south winds lately and work have been getting in the way of hunting. Probably going to duck hunt for a few weeks on our property before getting after it hard. I’ll scatter in a few sits and try and get a doe down, but won’t be hunting a ton. Need to get some points in the board!

It’s supposed to be low to mid 90’s here in OK until late next week! Im not looking forward to hunting in these temps but I’m still going. Them afternoon sits are going to be brutal, I’m so close to the bedroom I have to get in the blind early.

Good luck. Temps here in Indiana are supposed to be mid-80s all week coming up. Acorns are falling so that's what I'm going to concentrate on the first week

First sit of the year for me. It’s a nice cool morning, about 65 degrees. My blind was full of mosquitoes when I got in it but fortunately this thermacell ran them out quickly. I was wanting to leave my house at 6 and be set up in plenty of time but one of my shooters decided to come through at that time. Nonetheless it feels great to back out in a blind. Nothing this morning. Saw a few squirrels and even shot at one of them little rats. I’ll be out there this evening though. Evening times are normally a lot better. I’ll let y’all know how it goes.

Welp, it was a fun evening and almost came together! It was just so calm and quiet and they're only 6-8 yards away, that they heard me start drawing back. I have to do some work to that and get that taken care off. I won't hunt tomorrow at all but I should be back out there Tuesday evening. Here is a link to how this evening went if y'all want to check it out.
