Sounds good buddy! Yes we do. I'm not having the best season so I'm not doing my part yet lol. I hate heavy acorn years but I know it's great for the wildlife.... just makes hunting hard.

Alrighty y'all, I just got back from my hunting trip. We had some success, killed 4 Pheasants, 3 Jack Rabbits, and 1 quail. Seen lots of birds but just didn't have enough people. We all had a blast and can't wait to do it again next year. Went sight seeing a couple different times, one place we visited was the Capulin Volcano there in Capulin, NM. That was absolutely breathtaking. If you are ever in or around New Mexico, that is one place I recommend on visiting.

I will be back to deer hunting possibly Sunday evening due to working this weekend. The push to fill the freezer is in full swing now. I'm no longer looking for that shooter buck... I need meat so first come first serve now lol.

I am still out here trying guys... it's getting harder and harder to stay motivated though. Deer activity has decreased so much... all of it's been nighttime movement this past month. Season ends on January 15th, I'm hunting almost every day until the end! These next couple of days I will be out there with a rifle looking for a slickhead for the freezer. Last and final push!

Best of luck to you! I also hope to shoot a couple of late season deer for the freezer. I got my first one back from the processor and enjoying it now.

Thanks buddy! Best of luck to you too. It's getting tougher and tougher to get up and go deer hunting. We've had a big push of ducks come into the area and I'm so ready to start chasing them lol.

Well, I finally got another chance yesterday evening at a smaller buck. I drew back and made sure I was going to miss the blind, which I was. Focused back on him and he had taken a full step foward and I didn't recheck my clearance. Shot and my arrow went 6 feet behind him about 5 foot high in tree. That's just how my season has been this year. Looks like I'll be a hamburger meat buying peasant this year lol.

Gentlemen, Season is now over for me. Unfortunately, I was not able to put any points up on the board or any meat in the freezer. I'm going to do some duck hunting and than start crappie and catfishing once we warm back up a little bit. Y'all take care of yourselves and we'll see y'all next season, lord willing.

Yeah he is. He won’t shut up about it.
I’m really hoping my Chiefs quiet him down a bit this weekend.

got out a few times in January, saw some does or early shed bucks, but nothing that gave me a layup and at this point in the season that's what it would have had to have been. Was able to scout new areas and in this season I have identified many more hunting area options than I have had access to in many years.

Sorry boys, I just didn't have any opportunities on anything I was prepared to shoot, and had only one shooter buck anything close to in range all year. Other than knowing I was in the bad year of my every other year cycle, I thought and still think we had a good team- just a bad year.

Blessings to all in 2024, it's shaping up to be a tough year
