Thursday evening I will be either fishing off my kayak or shooting a doe. I can’t make my mind up yet.

Going for my first sit tomorrow afternoon. Cold front moving in, raining today and tonight ending around noon tomorrow.... should get them on their feet!

Had this guy give me a 19-yard broadside shot tonight and I just couldn't release the arrow. He is a tank, has a cow's body that might be pushing 350. lol. In reality he probably scores better then I think he does but just couldn't fill my buck tag so early this year. 865814041086016-100-4-10112022202932-W1010404.jpg

I hope you get skunked from here on out, passing a buck like that… he is an old buck probably on his way down and his rack looks smaller than it is due to his body size.

(I really don’t hope you get skunked but, Come on, Man!!)

You're a better man than I am! I would've sent it, filled my tag, and enjoyed sleeping in the rest of the fall.

That's for sure a cow with antlers! I wouldn't have thought twice.... but your story is going to be great..... you shoot a booner wearing pink! Lol

Hopefully that's just a start to having bucks in range and you send an arrow soon! Good luck!

I get to choose which hunt I am going to wear them right? Requirements are like 3 hrs? I can't get a 3hr sit in after work. Going to have to be on a weekend or when I take time off to hunt.

Pink 120 challenge thread confirmed it does not have to be the next hunt for the pink panties. Just need to be 3 hours and need to post pics in LFTS thread. Your good!

You have had some good bucks on camera so don't blame you for passing. I would have shot him on the property I hunt but I have pretty low standards, lol

I think I’m going to take a doe out tomorrow then I’ll probably be out of the woods until my draw hunt at Oak Ridge. This year has been insane with the amount of deer pics in my main spot I have. Getting lucky enough to take my target buck on opening day as well.

My first sit tonight I had a yearling and a 6 pointer in range. Not a bad start. At least I saw some deer. Back at it tomorrow afternoon!

Hey guys, just checking in. Very slow going for me. Still trying to navigate my desire to be in the woods and be a good dad with a 2 year old and 4 month old at home haha. Either way it’s looking more and more like the rut will be my time. Still getting a ton of pics in Iowa so I’m pumped about that!! I’m off from work 10-31 to 11-17, Hope to enjoy Iowa but get it done quick and either slip down to Missouri or head back home for some action. Until then it will probably be mostly family time! Good luck out there guys!! Enjoy!!

I took the last two days off to hunt, I broke my own rule last night and shot a doe in the evening on the last day of the hunt. Got her quartered up and in the cooler around 10pm and rolled in the driveway just after midnight. 50 more points for team 1 one coming once I submit the photo evidence.
