Ran out of light last night. Watch him walk in front of the cam. Needed 15 more min of daylight. Image1664669356.867123.jpg

Great looking Buck Heckler. Hope you get a shot at him. Our season opened yesterday but I was laying flooring Friday and Saturday. Got it all done for now. Need to put up new trim but that can wait. Hoping to get out in the next couple of weeks.

Hung a stand 100 yards further down in the draw to see if I can catch him before dark.

Took the boy out on Saturday evening for a quick sit. Saw a few small bucks and does, but it was right at last light and a touch too far, so no shots were fired.

I hunted last night in one of those spots where you're either not going to see a deer at all, or it's going to be a shooter in range. I didn't see any deer at all.

I may get out again Friday evening when this cold front rolls through. We'll see.

The winds are finally switching around today, so I'm going to take my son out this afternoon. We've had a number of bucks in front of our best blind before dark recently but were unable to hunt it due to the East wind. Tonight it switches to SSW, and I'm hoping one of them is feeling frisky and comes to visit us. It's going to be a little warm, but we'll see what happens. It's my last chance to get him out in the woods for about the next week. My wife is going out of town this week, and grandma (our babysitter) is also out of town. And there's no way in hell I'm taking all 3 of my kids into a blind to go hunting. lol

I am going to hunt Friday evening for myself - we'll see if this cold front gets anyone up and moving.

Good luck Justin! That would get pretty interesting with 3 kids in the blind though, lol

Didn't see squat! Cell cam was showing me pics of some does in a clover plot a few hundred yards north of where we were at tonight. Figures.

Hoping to get out for myself on Friday afternoon - although I have no real idea where I'm going to sit.

Have some colder weather coming in this weekend. Maybe it will make the bucks move a little earlier. High tower still moving after dark. Image1665113130.325420.jpg

I’ll go get a doe next week most likely. I haven’t been back into my spot since I got my buck. Cameras have been lighting up with doe and small buck pictures during daylight

Hunted Friday night for myself and saw 4 adult does and 2 fawns. No shots fired.

Took my two boys out last night and saw 2 adult does and 2 fawns. No shots fired again, but it was a fun sit. It was my 5-year-old's first time in the blind with us, and he had a blast. We had one of the does about 10 yards from the blind, and he did pretty good at holding still and not making noise for the most part. My older boy was pissed I wouldn't let him shoot her, but we have a rule against shooting does w/fawns on this farm since there aren't many deer around. And I have a personal rule against shooting does on Sunday nights. Ain't nobody got time for that.

This week I'm screwed and don't think I can hunt at all, so my next outing will likely be this weekend. Wife is out of town until tomorrow night, Weds is my last tee-ball game, Thursday is 10-year-old baseball practice, Friday night is family photos, and Saturday is our last 10U baseball game of the fall. After Saturday I'm free at last! Next week looks like it's gonna get COLD.

I was hoping to get out this Saturday morning but have something going on Friday that may keep me out past my bedtime, lol. Landowners are having a party at their house Saturday night so won't be able to hunt then. Looks like first good opportunity will be the 22nd in the evening if nothing else comes up. I do have a couple days off first couple weeks of November. Itching to get out

So I'm not the only one that has a no does on Sunday rule. Like you said I do all of my own processing and I travel to my hunting spot, nobody has time for that :)

Had a shooter buck on cam last night at the end of shooting time. So hope the bigger guys start moving a little earlier. I should be able to make it out Wednesday and Thursday evening. And the weather looks great for movement. I have my girls this weekend so not sure if I can make it out. Sometimes they like going but depends on the day. Good luck guys that are making it out.

I'm tied up until maybe Saturday morning if I feel like waking up early. Otherwise it will be Sunday before I can make it out again, which is okay with me. We're still about 10 days away from the best 30 day window of the season. 10/20 to 11/20 is go time.
