So this weekend I hope to get out and check a camera, hopefully some new bucks show up. Usually I get a couple new ones every August. I have also been watching a great looking buck out the back of my house. I got some video of him out in a bean field about a month ago, but haven't seen him in awhile.
So far I only had one 130+ shooter on camera up in Wisco but that was in early July. If he progressed the way he was looking he should be over 150. It's usually bachelor group heaven up there in the summer so I have no doubt there will be more on camera when I head up next weekend to pull cards one last time before season hits...we get decent Verizon signal up there and I am sooooo close to pulling the trigger on one of those Spartan wireless cams. It's either that or a john boat. Either one may get me served w/ divorce papers...the john boat for keeping me out of the house on the water; and the Spartan camera for all the times I will wake up in the middle of the night to grab my phone to check it.
Jordan, that's tragic man... heartbreaking to hear it. I'm really glad you guys are being blessed again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Welcome to the team Patrick! What an absolute monster buck!!! Man, this team is looking better and better by the day! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No 200"r here but I was happy to see this guy in the foodplot when I pulled my card yesterday. There's a bunch of 2-3yo 8 pts out there but he was the only one that got me excited so far.
not that it matters in the long run since he's a beast either way; but does he have a matching G5 claw on the other side or is he an 11pt?
Awesome deer! Looks like he will be a symmetrical 6×6, very rare deer! But man that deer looks like a 3 year old to me. He has the potential to be a monster. Don't know that I would be able to pass him if it was me. Are you shooting if you see him?
It's going to be tough...99% of bucks we see every year have 8 pt genetics. We've only had 2 or 3 ten points in the last 5 years. I haven't decided...me and my brother-n-law will go through all the cam pics in September and make a shooter list. In some pics like the first one he appears older...in that last photo I agree he looks younger. In this one you can see he's a big boy up against a doe and another buck. I like to see them hard horned and at full pre-rut neck size to get a better idea. I'm hoping some older bucks will show themselves once I get all my cams out these next few weeks.
I use a Snyper wireless cam. Best bang for your buck! Never had an issue and easy setup. Just make sure with wireless cams you have good cell signal or they will burn through batteries trying to send pics.
Passed this guy several times waiting on the droptine buck. They are both 8.5 and both made it through the season
I'm needing another trail cam or 2. Any deals out there? I like the browning cameras pretty good. https://m.facebook.com/BowHunters-Only-1154709954576548/ Like and share
I'm affiliated with Radix trail cameras. I can get you a coupon code for the website. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Field and Stream Store has a old trail cam turn in for $30 + $30 off Bushnell so you could get the Essential E3 for $69 Won't likely find anything better for that price
Just checked camera and the 8 pt I was hoping to stick around only came in 1 day in the last 3 weeks. Its good to know he is still around, but was hoping for more regularity. Also noticed acorns were droping already, not good!
My bigger bucks are the same way, Holt. Very hit and miss (mostly miss!) until October. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
