I was just looking at this pic and noticed a really nice buck in the back ground. Did you see it?

Yes, the one in front is not a shooter. The one in the back has potential.

9 deer so far. 2 of them are bucks, nothing great. The 8 pt has shed his velvet already. A rain storm just rolled in and most deer left. I'm going to ride it out just in case something else comes out.

Ended up seeing about a dozen deer, not bad considering all the rain. Right at dark what looked like a nice size buck came out, but to dark to make out what he was with the binos. May have to make another sit before the season starts

Did you get up to Wisconsin over the weekend? If so, what did you see. Don't hold out on us.

I went the weekend before and posted the worthwhile pics. Won't be up again until the Opening. Amazon failed to send me my Spartan wireless cam before I went up so I won't have anything new until after the Opener; and hopefully by then anything I'm posting will be kill shots!

Actually last weekend I was in the FL Keys...lucky I picked that weekend to pay it forward with the wife and not next!

Just got home from a archery-only hunt draw at a local 1k acre nature preserve. My dad and I were drawn as a pair, but we were 23rd out of 32 picks, so our dates are Jan. 6 - 19. Of course I hope to be tagged out long before then, but it's still pretty cool to have it as an insurance policy, especially for does.

Yep. Last year was my first time ever doing this or any other draw-hunt. We actually drew the exact same zone & time slot last season. But being so late, my pops didn't even bother going. I went 3 times (all evening hunts).. counted 17 does the first sit, moved to that trail and killed one the 2nd sit. It's an "earn-a-buck" hunt, so I moved to where I thought some bucks would be bedding on the final sit, and nailed it. Watched a few smaller ones move through, including a 120" 8 point that stood broadside at 10 yards, for 10 minutes. It's a fun hunt.. just didn't see a shooter. They said tonight that out of 64 hunters, only about half of guys made it out to hunt, and only 34 deer were killed (all does, except for 3). This hunt is usually done every 4 years, but with last year's seriously low harvest, it's up again this year. And unlike last year, they're gonna let us do a little bit of scouting. I could kill does all day long in this place. Should be a blast

Nice! It sure as hell feels like the season around here... I woke to 46 degrees this morning. Could see my breath for the first time since March.

I know, I'm not use to this. The last few years it has been in the 90s with high humidity. I went out yesterday to scout acorns, and cant believe the amount on the ground already! I also picked up 2 nice size 4 pt sheds, just a bonus!

Awesome. I went and checked 3 white oaks and one red today. They're slowly starting here, but not "raining" just yet.
