Weather and snow is still putting a damper on shed hunting. Did have some good news today though. A landowner who has been very good to us for a lot of years, called today at work to inform me that he got permission for the kids and I to shed hunt some new land. A 1000 acres of private with somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 deer wintering on it. :nana: Made my day to say the least !!!

Now I just need this weather to straighten out to find some sheds !!!

I am going out tomorrow looking but the snow will probably make it pointless. Been a crazy March here with all the recent snow. Glad you are feeling better. Good luck !!

There is a lot of snow out there !!!!! Britney and I did make it out today. Jokingly, I told Britney we needed to find 10 sheds when we first started. About a mile into the walk... I thought we were wasting our time with all the snow. I not so jokingly told her I would be happy to find one at that point. Then we rounded a slough and I saw tines sticking out of the snow. Looked down the trail and I could see another shed sitting on top of the snow. It turned into a pretty good day for us.

    First shed...

Britney's first shed of the season...

We were pretty happy finding 6 sheds so we headed back for the truck going a different way. We were tied with 3 sheds each. Britney was walking a trail when I glassed another area that looked trampled down a bit. I spotted tall, massive tines. I hollered at her and we found our first 70"plus shed of the season. Great way to end the day !!

Brits sheds are on the left and mine on the right with 72 2/8 shed in the center. We've got two sets of sheds to this buck from before. Tyler is going to be bummed cause he was working. LOL

I am up to 10 sheds now.

Nice work on the sheds. That one is a dandy and should be a really good one this fall. Looks like you got some other good up and comers too.

Awesome Tim, congrats to Brittany also, that middle one is a STUD. Well me and my oldest went out today and finally was able to come with the other half of Big Hoss. It was over a mile away from where I found my half in early Jan. I believe Daltons is going to out tape mine. Mine was 71 7/8 Ill tape it tomorrow. Its good having them together, he is over 160" look out next season and man we now have a travel route on him!

Yeah pretty neat, over a Month and over a mile away before we could put them together. Well his taped out at 75 7/8 " officially the biggest shed in our collection, my previous best was 72 3/8 " If this Buck had a 17" spread he would go 164 "

Alright Tony !! Congrats on the set !!

Dan that is a great looking set of sheds. Hope like heck you have an encounter with him this fall.

I've been doing some research on the new land I picked up. Found out who farmed the area around it and made two calls tonight. 960 acres turned into 2240 acres. We have the whole area covered now where the big herd wintered. I am stroked !! I've got the day off tomorrow and Brit has the day off from school. We be shed hunting maniacs tomorrow !! If things go good we will probably hit it Saturday too.

There is still quite a bit of snow but we should find a few sheds I am hoping.

    Tim
