    Had three hammering on the roost right off the bat. Flew down, and followed the hens across a creek. Then snuck in on six longbeards in a field with hens. Sixty yards was the closest they came. A little far for my youth hunters first shot at a bird. All in all a great morning. Lots of action, lots of gobbles. We will be back at it in the morning!

    Had a great morning with my father and my daughter on youth day! Tagged out by 0700 on a two year old gobbler! My daughter couldn't be any happier!! Second year in a row she killed a long beard on youth day! Started him and three others. Was able to pull him from the hens he was with! 18lbs, 8.5" beard, 3/4" spurs. Hoping I can have the same luck next weekend!

    Well my luck really declined fast. The hunter I took out missed, lost my phone for about an hour, then to top it all off I back into a tree on my way out. Lots of damage. Lots of fun.

    Rained out? Some of my best turkey hunts were in the pouring rain! Good luck when you are able to get out there! I am headed out Saturday morning. Hope to see some birds.

    Well I'm finally back out in the blind. Ended up going down to st.louis Monday night for a hockey game, so didn't get to hunt Tuesday. Got back to town Tuesday afternoon and loaded up the truck and headed out to the camp. Woke up yesterday morning to pouring rain, said screw that and went back to sleep. Did a little fishing yesterday afternoon. Had a pretty good storm push through last night and now it's cool and foggy, but I'm all set up and ready to sling an arrow. Now if only I could get a bird to gobble......
