Wow, the weather really stunk this weekend. I hunted anyway because of the dates but the only antlers I saw this weekend were attached to a big bodied fork.

I did have some does come flying past me at mach 1 a couple of times so I have to believe they were being chased but the bucks never showed themselves.

I was in the same boat as you blarney. I have a little 5 point come by three times Saturday morning. Then went Sunday morning didn’t see an thing so I decided to shoot a tree rat. And as soon as I shot it had a doe blowing at me at 40 yards. She watched me the whole. O well it happens.

Currently 72 degrees here in WI on November 11th. I've seen people ice fishing this same week in other years.

It’s short lived but it dropped from 70 degrees to the low 50’s in 10 or 15 minutes. Supposed to be mid 30’s in the morning. I just hope it pushed some more ducks down lol

The boy and I went out this evening. We had 3 does at 50 yards and then they seen us. Then about 10 minutes later my boy said there is a giant in the corn field. I turn around and he was right there was a giant in the field. He stayed out 75 yards with a doe. My wife’s cousin has a cell camera and a stand that we should of sat in. He sent me this pic. IMG_3386.JPG The picture doesn’t do him justice.

bucks starting to show back up on cam again after the heatwave.
I am leaving at lunch for my Western NY trip. Can't wait. Hopefully see some buck.
I shot a little doe earlier this week.. doesn't help the team though. Stay tuned and stay healthy!

I mean, it’s a nice size log! Once you measure it out I’m sure it’ll be way over that 50 point mark.

Now, let’s get the story behind this awesome log kill.

I went duck hunting yesterday for Oklahoma’s opener. Unfortunately we didn’t do very good. I did however break my boat when I hit a stump which led to me being thrown out of the boat and swimming with the fishes lol. Thank god it was warm and I was only using the trolling motor.

That goodness your safe hunter. We are still in this thing. Next weekend is firearm season but I can still bow hunt. Might take both weapons out.

didn't connect on my trip. had a 130 class 9 come in, but no shot presented. Had a 140 class 10 slip in on me yesterday afternoon after a heavy sleet storm downwind. Turned my head and he was standing at 25 yards looking at me. He had me pegged. I tried to get my bow and he just trotted off... ugh..
Gonna be warm again this weekend. shooting the first buck I see regardless of size as there is only 1 week left of bow season.

It’s truly not a great story lol. Helped a buddy find a arrow night before and set my bow down in field think I got Some dirt in nock. Put arrow in bow while dark. See big doe. Pull bow back. Hear a solid hit. Doe stands there for a few seconds see no blood. Confused get another arrow. She runs. Still see no blood even more confused. See lighted nock in log. Just enough dirt to throw arrow off. Still at it boys lots of season left here in ohio.

I don’t know bud, I love hearing about the misses just as much as I do the successful hunts. With the misses, you can get a little creative with the story and still hold on to the truth lol. I have my fair share of them... some still have me thinking “how’d that happen” lol.

Welp, my two buck heads are on their way to the taxidermist today. The first one will be the quickest one done because I’m gonna get the bigger one scored so he’s gotta dry some.
