I had to sit in a different location. The wind just wasn't right for the other spot.... And boy let me say they completely blew the forecast. The wind was guesting to 30 and the temp dropped to below 60 well before dark. I had my hot weather gear on and darn near froze to death. I didn't see one deer enter the field before dark tonight which is amazing because I could see in upwards to a 800 yards in one direction! I blame this on the wind! :(

I stumbled all the way back to the truck. I still feel drunk from swaying in the wind. It wouldn't surprise me if I fall out of bed tonight! Have to get my tree legs back.... LMAO!

Going to sit on another part of the same property tomorrow night.

I use National Weather Service... It seems to be the best of all of them. But I hate the "WRONG" forecast... as in every forecast! LOL

I am okay with the wrong temps but it does erk me a little when they give the wrong wind direction!

Agree - i've found that some spots the wind always blows the same way... Thermals or Terrain or something... Just seems to always go from bottom of draw to the top! I wish i was PhD in fluid mechanics and I could just figure it out! LOL!

Last night was a gorgeous evening. I snuck (yes I know snuck isn't a word however I can't bring myself to say "sneaked") in the stand at 4 PM. At 4:20 a buck that was bedded at 42 yards stood up on his feet. I speculate he heard something and got up on his feet to stretch and check things out. He was a 9 pointer, looked like around 125s". Nothing I would shoot.... He laid back down and didn't get back up until 7:30! Absolutely no day time movement...

I also checked the cam and one of my shooters passed it at 7:30 AM two days in a row. I am not sure how I can get in the morning without blowing everything out of there. I'll probably try to sneak in at first light so I am not fumbling around in the dark. I'll have to wait for the right wind. I need it to be breezy to help cover my movements and sound.

    I'm shooting a heli-m as well.

Love to hang stands over a main beam and then cut shooting lanes left and right of it. I can get away with a lot more movement.

I am living thru all of you guys that are hunting now! Hey Neal, U should ask franki about the sheds he found on me 2 years ago. I had him over, He lives no more than 20 mins from my property down here. I thought him and clinton where going to hunt it last year when Tyler's ground was destroyed with EHD. Guess with the pipeline he just got to busy. Anyway keep up the good work guys and lets keep this team thread from making it to the bottom pages
