Shot a buck in the high 120s low 130s but we lost him. This is the first Buck I have ever shot and not found. I have video that I will upload. It looks like a heart shot to me, maybe a little low, But either way I can not for the life of me figure out why I only got 6 inches of penetration. We followed blood for over 400 yards and it was amazing blood. Then we got to a creek crossing and it went dry after a piece of meat was laying on the trail
Darn, it would be nice to find that one. Hopefully, you can! Good luck on the search, let us know how it goes.
That was on Monday, We have searched every day up to yesterday in the afternoon, I am starting to think the buck is not dead. I am going to keep my eyes out for birds and if they are in the area then I will go and look again. I put out another trail camera
After watching your video several times, I agree with you that the hit was not lethal, and I would be very inclined to think that buck is alive. Sometimes, what appears to be a lot of blood, or heavy bleeding, isn't fatal, especially if it is coming from a superficial wound and not an organ or artery hit. Don't be at all surprised if you see him again soon. If you don't mind me asking, how far was the shot on that buck? At any rate.........keep at it, and sooner or later things will come together for you.
Episode 20: Get Pumped You can watch my hunt on the show... Watching back gives me goosebumps... Such a lucky hunter last week. Good luck guys!
In the middle of a 10 hour flying academics day but I'll be sure to watch it soon! Thanks again for the little string pulling Neal. Already had a buddy send me a message asking if I had seen the new episode.
That sucks jakeratt, sounds like maybe u only got a muscle hit? I haven't watched the video yet, currently in the stand . Hopefully u can either find him dead or get proof that he's still alive.
Just a heads up Team #1 guys. If you haven't already, take a few minutes and watch the footage of Neil's hunt on episode #20 of Bowhunt or Die. What a great hunt for sure. It is obvious by his reaction that Neil loves his bowhunting, and he is truly thankful for his success in the field. In between hunts this weekend, check it out. It's really cool to see one of "our own" getting it done! Congratulations again Neil............that's a great episode......and a truly great buck! Have a good weekend everyone. BOWHUNT OR DIE!!!!!!!
Can't wait to watch this weeks episode when I get home! Last year I shot my buck on this very day, will it happen again? Rifle opens up tomm.
Well.... we had a awesome night in the woods. Most rut activity we have seen yet. Within the first hour we had a big 8 and a 10 chasing a hot doe. After two full circles he was able to harvest the 10. It's a bitter sweet ending to another hunt. On the bright side I really wanted the 8. He was a giant!!! I may get another crack at him!!! Here is the 10.... He is a pig but wasn't the dominant buck. I am not sure how old he is... We think he is at least 5 1/2. Probably older....
I was slightly underneath the shoulder. The arrow was literally lodged in his heart. I took a photo of it I couldn't believe it... WARNING GRAPHIC!!! It was a fantastic shot that looked and felt low!
I appreciate the kind words... I do truly feel like a lucky hunter! So thankful for the opportunity! They don't come often! Love it!
Hunting partner's harvest. I am staying on top of it... I've put enough hours in the stand. It's going to happen!!!! Taking the boy out in the morning and then I am going to hit it again in the evening. We are going to get about 3 in of snow tomorrow. Should make for a great evening hunt!
