Ohio opening morning was mostly a bust. A couple of hunters were in a blind about 150 yards away and one guy shot a Jake with a recurve and the other guy missed the other Jake with a gun. Gobblers were very quiet and henned up pretty good. This was public land, headed to private land for tomorrow’s hunt .

Mornin' everyone. I hunted this past Saturday morning. I was able to take a nice Tom and get the whole thing on video. I'm hoping to get out again. The bird scored 57. I'll get it posted later today.

Had some success yesterday on the opener. Me and my son both scored.

Well had three days to hunt and here I am on day 3 birdless, two other guys both got birds with shotgun. Only seen one Tom this weekend and he avoided me. 2 hours left and I'm done

Birds bested me last week. I'll be back out Thursday morning for another 7 days.

Well I ended up actually getting sick yesterday. I had three Toms walk up at 8am and they were sitting at my decoys at 28 yds. I sent an arrow flying at the biggest tom and aimed for just in front of shoulder/wing. After I released I heard a loud smack and watched the bird backflip and waddle off low and slow. When I got out of the blind there were feathers everywhere but no blood. My arrow had no blood and my Rage didn't open properly, from what I could see. Crawled on my hands and knees for about two hours looking for this bird but never found anything. I absolutely hate leaving animals injured and 24 hours later am still having a hard time with the scenario. Good luck to the rest of you, my season is over.

It’s been a cat and mouse game so far. Heard about 40-50 gobbles this morning but they wouldn’t come in. They wouldn’t cross the creek to reach me so trying a new strategy.

Lots of excitement in the blind this morning. I didn’t get a shot but my brother nailed this bird flogging our Jake decoy.
