Went out to the hunting property this past weekend and set up some blinds for my dad and brother in-law. It will be the brother in-laws first time hunting anything so I set him up where I usually hunt. I decided to completely abandon my usual plan so he could have a good chance and moved 1/2 mile away to the back of our property. I'm going to be sitting on the corner of a big hay field so I am hoping they will be out there in the sun fanning.
Sorry for the late response. We've been busy getting ready to farm and stocking up on wood for next winter. Just got back from elk shed hunting in Utah. Thay is alot of work! I need to get in shape much sooner if I do that again! Good Luck this season! We gave the deer season a run for it! Best team I've ever been a part of!!
Well, I'm certainly out of this one, looks like ill be in Europe and Asia for at least the next couple of months, may be back for a week in between but will only have time to fill feeders, definitely wont have time to Turkey hunt! Best of luck all. GO TEAM 5 lol
Guys I still have two weeks left. Im getting around 1,100 Turkey pics on one cam in 3-5 days time. if they hold true to the spot its going to be killer
That's insane. 8-12 more inches of snow expected for us Friday/Saturday. Temps have been brutal too. Today we may reach 50, but then more cold. 10 day forecast shows 0 50 degree days. Season opens next weekend and the turkeys are still in winter mode. Grouped up and feeding. Haven't been able to get to my hunting ground since last fall because of all this snow. Going to be a few weeks before I'm able to get out.
High of 70° in Michigan today but by Monday we will be getting your snow and cold weather....I'm just about done with the cold lol
Today it's about 85-90 degrees while I'm out here weed eating around chicken houses Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Our first season in northern Illinois just opened up today and runs Monday-Friday. I've got a second season tag that opens up on Saturday and should be a great weekend to get a bird down. Temps this weekend should be low to mid 50s after a cold nasty week. Pretty excited but I'm strapped for time opening morning because I have to drive an hour and a half away to go umpire a double header.
Saturday will be my first day out. Scouted the last few days and the area is covered up in turkeys. Hope to get my first bird with the bow!
Headed out next Thursday for my season. Have not scouted much but I know they are in the area. There will be three of us out hunting so hopefully someone gets lucky. Weather has been weird here but I think it will be warming up just in time. Congrats anothonyzink!
Set up just off of their roost between 2 fields. They would not commit this morning. Not much action after they came down from the roost. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I went out yesterday and got my buddy a tom. Today is my opening day and I couldn’t hunt. Got booted off my spot by my best friends father in law. Got another spot for tomorrow so we will see how this plays out Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
