Last night I got to see some crazy ****. I was at a North American Wild Sheep foundation banquet in Des Moines. They had a bunch of tags and hunts available for auction. A Nebraska elk tag went for $36,000 a Wyoming big horn sheep governors tag went for $70,000 and some other stuff went for crazy money too. The reason we were there is my friends wanted the Iowa whitetail governors tag. They bought it for $11,500. It was crazy too watch.
sad to see some people have that much money to throw around. nothing like sitting down and eating a $2000 elk steak at home!
When the guy was bidding on that elk tag there was no hesitation he just nodded his head if anyone else bid.
that guy should have bought a few living elk instead for that kind of money. yikes! it would somehow be funny if those guys went and didn't fill their tags. it must be guaranteed success.
Basically people who bid this high do it cause it charity money. They can write off the difference of the cost of the tag on taxes. My buddy bid $9300 on this same tag. So not only is he paying taxes in IA he is supporting an IA charity too. He doesn't have this option in WI or MN. People who have the money sau it is a win win. Crazy I know. Something most people can't understand or will ever have to worry about.
oh trust me I understand. I have my own business. seems like I'm dumping money left and right to avoid taxes. I try to spend it on equipment that will make me more money. my business isn't big enough to donate to charities yet. still have a lot of reinvesting to do. big storm coming tonight. 10"-24" over next two days. looks like it's going to be a while before I get out now.
I'm definitely not the best on the computer. If it wasn't for my job I'd be even worse.......................
got about a foot of snow from that storm. hope it melts fast. looks like I'm going to take off a few days to go looking after it melts.
