    Good luck Last!

October 20th is my go date for hitting the woods as much as possible, mornings and evenings. I might get out Thursday afternoon too. Weather is looking good for one of my prime spots that I had a nice encounter last weekend.

Good luck guys, lets keep pushing those numbers higher! Were doing great so far!

    Congrats on the doe !!

I missed a decent 8 point this evening. I have no idea what happened. I was sitting in my stand 430 at which point I decided it was time for a few grunts. After about 10 mins I catch movement down below on the side of a slow tapering point. I slowly stand an pull my binos to my eyes he appeared to be working over a scrape about 100 or so yards away I saw just enough rack to know I wanted to put an arrow through him. I continued to watch him to see if he was gonna work his way to me or go down in the bottom he turned away and started the other direction so I let out a grunt. The first one stopped him in his tracks, the second whipped his head, and the third sent him my way. He worked his way up the point until the wind was in his face he then made a hard right, right to me coming right down the trail. He got about 7 yds from the base of my tree an put his nose in the air looking right @ me I didn't wanna make eye contact so I was looking off to my right. He then made a slow turn and walked 5 or so yards away an put his nose to the tree I applied evercalm to. At this point he was quartering slightly away less then 10 yds I set my pin were it needed to be and released. He took off like a bat out of hell tail down even thought I saw a mule kick I tried for the next 2 hrs, but I couldn't see my arrow in the ground. Naturally I thought sweet buck down that arrow is lodged in the opposite shoulder. Climbed down @ dark found my arrow under some shrubs cleaner than when I nocked it.

I am not sure if I deflected or I under compensated for the short yardage. Either way I can't get it off my mind ...my usual track job is walking to were I saw it go down :banghead:

Opel, I noticed they didn't enter your doe onto the scorecard because there was no time listed. I did the same thing.

You just have to go back and edit in the time of the kill to get it officially entered. Once this is done we will be in second place!!!

Alright, lets go guys, the rut is upon us!

New property I was talking about ...
Inside the blue is apple trees ... Should be awesome next early season. The woods are pretty much nothing but red and white oaks
