Nice work CrabClaw. Too bad your neighbor was an a#$.

Wind is supposed to die down here around 4. Hoping they are active at that point tonight. Might be hunting silent for the 1st hour to see if I can catch them on their path to field. Who am I kidding. I won't be able to not call at least a few times. Will have decoys out for first time.

Today was a total bust. Quite all morning. I packed up my stuff walled to my truck turned around anda hen flew right out of my field. So I grabbed my bow and one call and went back in about 10 minutes later another hen came past but no Toms. Hopefully outer will be better tomorrow after this wind stops

Went out tonight with a friend. Called in 3 jakes. They all came running into decoys. My buddy nailed one of them. His first turkey with a bow. I was calling using his box call. My slate call wasn't working with the wind. We had a big tom that was 100 plus yards away that wouldn't ever commit to us. I would have liked to see him get close. Saw in the binocs and looked like a nice beard.

Fun hunt and I'll be back out in the morning to hear the woods awake. Hopeful to fool a big tom. Good luck to everyone else.

    Cody's Bow Turkey 2012.jpg

Here is turkey from yesterday that my friend shot. No luck this morning. Had a gobbler coming in silent, but he couldn't see my decoys and I'm pretty sure some real hens were over the hill that he went to. Gobblers were out and loud this morning. Fun morning either way.

One of the best parts of last night was when we were cleaning the bird you could see all kinds of clover that he had been eating. We just planted food plot last year so it is nice to see that they are really using it. He had also been digging up some corn.

Neber I hate to do this to you but teams were posted quite awhile ago! We were having trouble with people not checking in, pm's were then sent, still no check ins, so alternates filled the positions for missing members. You were replaced so you can still sign up as an alternate is someone drops out or something. Im truely sorry but its late and we needed to make sure teams were all equal in numbers!

Audrey gives me her magic every time I go hunting or fishing and gave it to billy this morning.
She said sorry daddy but he needed it more than you today. lol
So I showed her these posts and read her what you said and told her that you are new to hunting and she gave you her magic to get a big fat turkey as she puts it. So best of luck to you and see ya at the GTG

Awwww....tell Audrey THANK YOU!!! I really do need all the luck I can get! I need to take my bow in to the shop as soon as I am off work tonight. I went out to shoot this weekend and my first shot went way to the left...and I mean WAY to the left. I was like...what the...and took another shot...same thing...took a deep breath and drew again...made sure I was lined up and everything felt perfect and again...WAY off!!! I have no idea what happned! Not good timing since my turkey hunting starts Wednesday. So, reading this and getting her luck comes at the most perfect time! :)
