Saw a little 8 pt this evening. The wind wasn’t blowing directly E or W, it was doing everything else though. So I sat in a creek bottom trying to catch a doe crossing from W to E. I’ve never sat there and probably never will again lol. I may take next years deer season off until I can get enough squirrels eradicated. If I do 5/day for all of September and October, maybe they won’t get on my nerves so bad in Nov.
Saw about a 90” 8 this morning and the Big fat doe. Didn’t have a shot on the doe, sad face sad face. I’ll get her though. If I don’t catch a big buck cruising the next few weeks, I’ve got the secluded green plot to put my hope in to
For the love of God folks, read the rules! TWO PICS of you, the deer and the bow (in the same pic, of course) and the DATE and TIME of the kill. I'm astounded at the number of folks who have been participating in the contest for years who aren't doing this. Also, if I ask you for missing pics or missing info that is required by the rules, please be courteous enough to send me a message and let me know you've added it. I do try to remember who is/was missing pics/info and go back to check but the bigger the scorecard thread gets the more difficult it is to keep track of them all. I try hard to stay on top of the scorecard and keep it updated, but I kind of like to hunt too so please try to meet me in the middle and make it a little easier on me. i had a fawn doe at 13 yards today, she was small and i had the release attached to the string about to pull it back when i realized that she was tiny. i thought about it, thou. i want alot more meat than 35 lbs if that.
Had all kinds of bucks crossing the roads last night on my way home. 915-930pm. 90 % were bucks by themselves. One was impressive here's to hoping lockdown is done here. And they will be roaming again
Just added 50 to the score card this morning. Yearling doe.. Just the kind of slick head this old man likes for the dinner table.... 7 yard shot and 20 yard blood trail.. Makes it easy peesy getting them out when they fall 10 yards from the field edge!
I had a great morning hunt. was doing a ground hunt by a bedding area. Ended up seeing 13 total. One nice 10 point and a forky. The big buck ran these fawns away from their mom and they almost ran right up to me. Here is a picture of them at 10 feet.
Didn't know you could do that. One problem I would have is there are no pics with my crossbow in them. Here's a couple more that I never posted anywhere. Please pay no attention to my goofy looking neck gaiter and hat but they are very warm. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
