Samsung does make a quality product. I bought a samsung color tv with remote in 1980. Somehow Mom got her mitts on it and kept it until the day she died in 2006. Then, my niece took it and used it until all local TV stations switched over to HD. That TV was a good one. Now, I have 2 samsung plasma tv's and a projection tv in the house.

Wow, that's spiffy!! I should take a picture of the reception our tv gets... with cable. (we have only the most basic and useless cable, CNN (boo!) and the 3 local channels which are super grainy.

This is my cable reception... getting a spiffy tv makes about as much sense as putting a Bose sound system in an old dodge dart that's dragging a muffler... heh heh heh

One last thing that wasn't really mentioned is how you plan to display it. On the wall or on a stand, thickness and weight are big wall mounting needs. Wall mounting can help create a lot more open space but still need all the accessories to have a home and limits how often and how much you can rearrange room layouts.

Holy crap! That was my first car '74 Dart, sadly I had to go with a Sparkomatic and upgraded to a Craig. Instead of Bose I had a 7 band amplified equalizer.

    Direct tv or dish network.

I had digital cable for 1 week before I told them to get that crap out of my house. ;)

I'm getting real close to throwing out the current TV's. I've held off because my wife, God rest her soul, bought this damn TV cabinet for over 3 grand. It's a monster... it fills the wall. Without it... I could easily put up a nice 50 incher or so,,, maybe bigger. The question... what do I do with my wife's TV cabinet? I'm thinking chain saw and bonfire. I really want a new TV so I can read the on screen writings. With what I have it's hard to tell what the score is.

I have a huge oak cabinet myself. I moved the cabinet and tv to my sons room.

Bought the 55 and am glad I did.
