Why? Why are these two playing each other? I have to imagine neither team/school is happy. All the talk about how these teams can't hang with the big conferences, and it looks like they'll get their chance to prove the haters wrong...until the BCS completely screws them. I feel bad for both teams. What a joke. Yay! for the BCS. :(

Yeah, they both have to be disappointed.

Would have loved to see Boise or TCU destroy Iowa.

Yeah, they easily could have had one play Iowa and one play Georgia Tech.

Instead of two exciting "David vs Goliath" games, we get one "Awe, thats cute" game. I'm really disappointed about this.

It's the talk of the town around these parts. Everyones pissed, and I don't blame 'em. It's crap. This is the one reason that they should have some type of playoff system, but that will never happen

They did it for a reason, they dont want both TCU and Boise winning against automatic conference BCS teams. Boise and TCU could have easily done this against Iowa and GA Tech. So put them together and not let their be a greater arguement in the future as to whom deserves to be in the BCS.

Forget Iowa and Ga Tech, let TCU and Boise play teams like FLA. I realize these smaller conference undefeated teams are good, but let them play teams like Texas, FLA, AL in a playoffs and they don't survive in my opinion..

I wish theyd make the 4 BCS bowls a playoff entry for 8 teams....the winners play in a semifinals, and the two remaining teams have earned the right to a BCS Title game. Only difference from current way will be that the title winner will also be the winner of a BCS bowl as well. No big deal IMO. If they made a playoffs this year I still think FLA and AL would emerge at the end to meet again.

Utah completely dominated Alabama in the Sugar Bowl last year.

Boise beat Oklahoma a few years back.

They can not only survive, but they have proven that they can win.

There are 5 BCS bowl games. But you could easily drop two of those teams and make it 8. But then there will always be the argument of who gets left out of the 8 team playoff.

They both deserve a BCS bid, which is what they got. TCU will get a reality check when Boise State destroys them. Maybe if they played a few ranked teams they might get a better bid... But they don't. They got what they deserve.

You cannot keep letting them in based on piss poor schedules and then feel bad that they do not "get a shot". Join a big boy conference and play teams that are as good as you week in and week out and then if you can run the gauntlet you get your shot. It is easy to win one every now and then ie...Ok and Bama but they would not even be there if that schedule had USC, Bama, Fla, Tex or any other school you have heard of. Boise state beat an oregon team tha won the pac 10 in week 1, so there is the argument...I watched them get ran out of Athens a few years back, Zambranski had 5 pics in the first half and watched the second from the bench.

Our whole country is based on everyone gets a shot no matter what...so maybe Bama should join the MAC and when we win it every year we should throw our arms up and wonder why we do not get in the championship game.

I keep saying it, but the big 10 needs 1 more team to give them 12 and a conference championship game, why are these schools not lining up and trying to fill that void, ND was offered this, but they get alot more money staying independent. There is a reason the TCU's of the world come and go, their conferences are so weak that you land 1 or 2 big time recruits that fall through the cracks and you can dominate for a year or two, then it is time to wait for it to happen again.

I would also like to add that I am also pissed that they hid these 2 guys and put them against each other. I think either one of them would punish Iowa...they suck, 10 and 2 and almost lost to at least 4 bad teams and they get an at large...

I think the GT vs. Iowa is a bigger joke of a BCS game.

Right but the 5th is a championship bowl, Have the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, and Orange Bowls selected out of the top 8 teams. Leave the Title game TBA. The 4 BCS Bowls will serve as a playoffs into the 5th Bowl, the Championship Bowl. Nothing would change besides One Bowl Team will have won a bowl AND the championship game (not a big deal in my eyes).

Theres ALWAYS an arguement of who SHOULD have and shouldn't have made it in the playoffs, but you gotta admit with 5 seemingly legit undefeated teams left, and teams Like FLA in the mix...you gotta wonder whos REALLY the best. A team that must win 3 games to earn the title against the top 8 teams in the nation has earned it MUCH more than a team that played just 1.

No...the teams that make it to the championship game will have to have won 2 bowl games.

    8 ---> 4 ----> 2

I suppose if you make up two additional bowls to name the semi finals they will have....I was just referring to Making the Tostitos Orange Sugar and Rose bowl the entry bowls for the first 8 teams. The 4 winners play in a semi finals as the playoffs for the BCS Championship. The winners of these two semi final games have earned their spot (and rightfully so) in the championship, and both have won a BCS Bowl. One will emerge the victor and national champs.

Not a perfect system by any means....but it would be a way to not so drastically change the current system (by just adding in two additional games) but give 8 teams rather than 2 a chance at the title.

Im callin TCU, UF, Bama, Oregon, and Ga Tech.....

Far from perfect. You're still going to have bubble teams and teams that get "snubbed". It would be a step in the right direction. Most times, the current system does a pretty good job of determining the best team in the country. It's after that, it gets a little sketchy.

Trevor, those are my picks too.
