I say Rich Rod should get one more season. If he could get a defense that was at least decent, with the way they can score points.... They would be a very tough game for anyone.
Mike Martin 299 LBS Will Cambell 335 lbs Calvin Johsion 198 lbs 6' 0 Freshmen(safe to say he will add few lbs) Kenny Demens 246' lbs 6'1 SO Ray Vinopal 197 lbs 5' 10 Freshmen Roh 251 lbs 6' 5'' DE/Linebacker SO Black 6'2'' 265 DE Freshmen Again most are SO and FR, give them another year lifting weights and they all will put on 10-15 lbs. Wis, OSU, Iowa all had SR and Redshirt SR OL guys. 22 year olds going against 18 and 19 year olds is the issue.
OSU only had 2 seniors on the line, one was a one time Michigander... Ohhh whats his name again... Oh yes, Mr. Boren
I'm not convinced the offense is all that great. Robinson had to sit out plays in multiple games because of injuries (goes back to your small/fast comment). His TD:TO ratio was 1.6:1. I believe he turned the ball over 15 times this year, if I remember correctly. He is one of those guys I don't see getting any better. I think he is "tapped out" as a sophomore. Having a better running back behind him would help, but otherwise, I think this is as good as it gets. Michigan struggled to compete in the games they lost. Not just defensively either. They only averaged 22 points in those losses (21 points less than in wins). Every loss was by double digits. They didn't beat a team with more wins than themselves (7), and the record of their opponents in those 7 games is a combined 37-44. Bottom line, they beat up on bad/mediocore teams, and didn't compete against good teams. 7 fluff wins. If their defense wasn't so bad, they probably wouldn't score so many points. They give up touchdowns so quickly, they get the ball back faster than it would take to force a 3-and-out. If they had a better defense, they would probably score less points. :D
I think it's a stupid move for them to go to the Big East. I would think something closer to home would have been a better fit. How do they think they'll do in basketball in the Big East? NOT VERY WELL I figure. Seems like a long road trip all year long.
A BCS bowl pays 10 million +.... A regular bowl less than a million. They are guaranteed a chance at a BCS bowl every year in the Big East.
Agreed, football is where the money is. 19 out of the top 20 money makers in college sports are football programs. The only basketball program in that top 20, ranked 19th, is Duke.
Vito really, if there defense was better they would score more points, being they could stop someone. They can get back on the field just as quick with a 3 and out. Denard is going to be a better passer next year, this was his first year starting. He's not going to make less of those bad throws and just like TP run a bit less. RR has the number 1 and 3 backs commited to MI next year. This is a team of SO going against Jr and Sr's on those better teams. They lost to the 5 teams I thought they would.
TCU in the Big East! College football is all about what? What kind of a price ticket do you put on travel for TCU week-in and week-out.
Oh ok Well the pay-off will be worth it. BCS conferences share BCS money. TCU is not guaranteed to get BCS money every year in the Mountain West. In the Big East, whether they make it to a BCS bowl or not, they will still receive a couple million just for being in the conference.
