TCU to join Big East Sources are saying TCU will join the Big East. Good for them as far as the BCS is concerned, but I wonder if their window has passed. With smaller schools, some years they just have the right talent at the right time. TCU has had two very successful seasons in a row, but can they keep it going? Also, after watching a few of the top Big East teams play this year, I have have two thoughts... 1) You would think TCU could have won the division this year. 2) Its no wonder Rich Rod was successful in that conference. TCU is going to get crushed in basketball though.
TCU would have probably went undefeated in the Big East this year. I hope they do go, they are a good program and should be successful there.
Possible, but I don't know about probable. They won their league games by an average of 33 points. We you blow everyone out, you back it off some, pull first stringers, and overall the players are more "rested". Even though the Big East doesn't have good teams this year, they are still more talented top to bottom than the Mountain West. I think the more talented teams you play (bigger, stronger, faster), the more likely injuries are to happen. Too many variables to say they probably would have gone undefeated, in my opinion, but I wouldn't have been suprised either. Its tough to go undefeated in any conference, but its get tougher as you "move up".
While I agree with all of your points.... The Big East this year is awful... I mean just terrible. They have no star players at all in that league let alone any depth. I mean, a team (uconn) that the U of M beat can win the conference.
How does Boise feel now? They basically moved so they would be in the same conference as TCU. Now TCU moves. Eeeeek.
That would never work. Don't forget Utah joined the Pac 10 too. That Mountian West might be worse than the WAC now. I'm sure Boise is thrilled! But most likely pissed.
Big 12 should have offered TCU and Houston to get back to 12 teams. But this is a smart move for TCU. Now they are in a BCS conference, and I believe they will continue to dominate, even in the Big East, which is a worse conference than the Mountain West. Boise will continue to have to play in small conferences due to their horrible academics. I mean dreadful. It's the reason why the PAC-10 has yet to offer.
You mean conference's aren't constructed based on how good a school's football team is? Interesting..
That also matters (obviously), but the school also has to meet conference academic standards, and Boise's academics are dreadful, especially compared to PAC-10 schools. Boise could probably join the SEC though...
Beat we stomped them, LOL They only could score 10 on MI. My flag football team could put up at least 14
I understood completely. It was just refreshing for someone to realize that Academics plays a major, major role in conference make up, much more than people realize. It's not all about how good the football team is and where it's located.
This is one of the most false statements about Rich Rod(Not blaming you buckeye, just the media) Look at his recruits, here is just an example WR Class for 2010 6-0 199 lbs Sayed 6-4 217 lbs Miller 6-1 199 lbs Robison OL Class 2009 6-7 293 lbs Schofield 6-4 315 lbs Wasighton 6-8 294 lbs Lewan OL Class 2010 6-7 310 lbs Mateus 6-2 280 lbs Pace DT Class 2010 6-3 320 lbs Ash We have Hopkins at TB next year, 230 lbs back. Avery is 207 lb corner, the small player arguemnt is just false. Not your fault Buckeye, just how the media works. Look at this small guy 6' 5'' 315 for the 2011 class Tony Posada, we have Shawn Conway WR 6'4 183 lbs, Jake Fisher 6' 7'' 270 lbs. They above are just some examples, many more where those came from.
Look at your examples, now find me more than one player listed on the.... Well... You know defensive side of the ball.... Where.... Well.... You know, you guys struggled. Compare your defenses front 7, err I mean 6 (damn 3-3-5) against tOSU, Iowa, Wisconsin etc etc... I wasn't speaking of your offense, it is just fine.
