Just got him back. I built everything. Taxidermist only did the head mount and tanned the hide for me.

Slugger, 514# which is a big northern bear.
Got a couple more pics coming soon of 2 more 500+let's I've helped people get the past 2 years
Just tickled pink I found a Taxidermist that does a beautiful job mounting bear.
For sure, he's not cheap but taxidermy is an ART,
A great artist should/does get more$ for his work.

Very cool! I am getting same pose done on a turkey. Im waiting on 2 deer and a turkey from same taxi. He takes 18 -24 mo because hes an old guy and only does it part time which i know this every time i drop something off but im getting impatient!! He does very good work and never has raised his price so ill continue to go to him.

Waiting is the hardest part, I dunno if I could do 18-24 months hahaha. I’m chomping at the bit to get my deer back and that’s usually 7-8 months !

Once waited over 3 years for a buck mount, year 1 or 2 get phone call from a NJ DNR Sargent, we confiscated your head, no paper work with it. Taxi lost the tags, scrambled to get records from MD DNR, they released it back to him, still took another year. Taxi was a friend, did terrible job on all the mounts, but was cheap. Get what you pay for, found a great taxi close by now, live and learn.
