    Yep. I actually live in ND even though MN is in my screen name. I grew in MN. The oil $ helped lower my property taxes this year.

    The map depicts when the average person from each state has earned enough money to pay off their federal income tax, state income tax, and local excise tax (if any). It does not include sales tax paid.

    Yeah I realized that but it does state
    Sales tax is local & state! My point wasn't to be augmentative but this map doesn't really show the real tax freedom day. If people really know that they work closer to 5 months for Uncle Sam there would be more pissed people.
