I'm growing tired of all the nitpicking as of late. If you are looking for perfect grammar, perhaps an online forum isn't for you. Chill out or you guys will be given some time to relax away from the forum.
Why not? Its his body and his decision. Why do you care if he makes what you consider an unwise decision? Kind of a surprising post from you MM. You're usually a pretty open minded dude. As for the original question, I have no idea what you should get. I only suggest you wait until you know what you want, instead of just getting a tattoo. But obviously thats your decision.
Thanks, you're right...my apologies for any offense. My advice is before we do something permanent to our bodies, it seems like a good idea to know why and what we want in case we change our mind later. I have nothing against tattoos. Again, I'm sorry for the offensiveness on my part.
Do yourself a favor and do a google search on tattoo remorse and tattoo regret. You will see data showing percentages from 50 to 80% of those that get a tattoo, regret it. Its no wonder there is a boom for dermatologists and the tattoo removal business being asked to remove these poor choices and why tattoo covering cream is another booming business. Think about (don’t use emotion) and then ponder how long you’re going to live and what your mutilation will look like when you are 60, 70, 80. Ultimately its no skin (pun intended) of my back if you make such a mistake but I stand by my earlier words in that I have never seen a tattoo that didn’t make me shake my head in disbelief and every hunting “themed” tattoo I’ve seen looks silly and ridiculous making me wonder, who would do such a thing? This will no doubt be unpopular with those that have one of these permanent disfigurements but that’s the beauty of a web based opinion forum. We get to share our views on the subject.
Please let me apologize directly to you for my previous remarks. I know you were just using texting language and I shouldn't have harrassed you over it. My bad, I was wrong for doing so.
That would be my advice as well, and ultimately its his decision. Thought that post was little out of character for you. What a tattoo would like would be the least of my concerns when I'm 60+ years old. You may not know this, but a lot of things on your body won't look that good when you hit that age. Whether on not other people have remorse over getting tattooed would have zero effect on my decision, and I can't see a reason why it should.
Rancid, i havnt really bit at any of your posts yet, but i will now. Please refrain from using the word "mutilation" when describing tattoos. If you dont like them, are against them, or disagree with the people who get them, simply leave the thread. You like that sexy myspace pose? I sure do. Thats a classic. National Geographic in 100 years.
Very. And no unattractive ink either. If others want it, fine but it seems most don’t think this through.
After re-reading it... I find myself completely hoping it was out of character for me. Thanks for both, the affirmation and the call to accountability. Fitz as well.
You don’t have to like this very descriptive and appropriate term but it’s the exact description of a tattoo. 1. To disfigure by damaging irreparably: mutilate a statue. 2. To make imperfect by excising or altering parts. 3. To Radically alter, disfigure Sort of like graffiti on a building detracts from the appearance. What you do to your body Is up to you. You might see it as art. Others see is as self-mutilation. I suppose if you do it and the rest of us don’t have to suffer through the viewing of it, that’s one thing but it seems that when people get a tattoo, they have to either post a picture of it or show it hoping to solicit a response. My response is it looks stupid and is in no way an improvement over what you got on your birthday. By its definition, It’s a mutilation of the body plain and simple. It almost sounds like your only opinion should matter and that you want to silence mine because you don’t like hearing it. That’s typical of the counter culture movement that deviates from the norm and then gets upset that others speak their mind.
When your opinion is stated with a "negative" tone or theme, it puts itself up for ridicule. So tattoos are counter-culture now and deviate from the norm you say? They must be a new thing. Kinda like drinking beer.
This is my second post I have read and seeing you respond to in a negative way its just upsetting to see negativity from people. You should probably just keep your negative opions to yourself?.....nobody wants to hear negative opions...this website is suppose to be fun and enjoyable and help out people when they ask when people start using negative talk it makes this site not as fun anymore...If you dont have anything nice to say and dont say nothing...If you hate tattoos then keep that to yourself rather than posting it unless you enjoy people getting upset with you..
Well the thread started with a guy asking for help on picking a tattoo, and for people to post pics. You did neither. You only expressed your distaste for them, and then took it further when someone disagreed with you. I'm all for pointless posts, but there is a time and a place. I can help you with this.
Not wanting to believe it only harms your argument. According to the American Society of Dermatological surgery, over 50% of everyone receiving a tattoo wants it removed. http://www.cynosure.com/applications/tattoo-removal.php I’ve said my peace. We all have opinions. I shared mine and can move on.
Wait, so a company that offers tattoo removal as a service shows numbers promoting their service? Shocking. You have to love estimations, especially when they are in support of your view. Bonus points if it helps you make more money.
thanks for the research but who cares....The reason why i post my tattoo is to show it off because i love it and hopefully give someone else an idea for a tattoo they might want in the future.
I am so glad I'm not a bitter old guy that that finds amusement in inserting his derogatory opinions into every thread he can find, while also pretending like he's intelligent.
