Thanks, and yes, you are right about that spot hurting like heck. I wish he would have told me before he started, that that spot is one of the worst spots to get one.
I have a half sleeve on my lower left arm and two on the back of my right arm. I cover them up at work out of respect of the company, not because they have asked me too. IMO tattoos are not viewed by the public as they once was. When I came over and showed my grandmother mine she started crying. Not because I got a tatt, but because I got a tatt in memory of my grandfather. I love tattoos and I'm all for people getting them as long as you think it through and get something with meaning.
Couple of my tattoos are over 30 years old. Back when the needles were fat and the colors were few. I still like them and have had them touched up/recolored a couple of times. Probably will get those two redone once more before it's all said and done. If you put enough thought and consideration into them then I can't see why there would be any regret. One tattoo took me years to develop but it is my favorite and cover a big chunk of my back. One was simple. I took some finger paints and covered my daughters hand when she was 4 years old. I put her hand print on a piece of paper. Then I had that hand print transferred to my left shoulder. When I was a single parent I carried her on my left hip a lot and she always had her hand right there. Now it will be there until I turn to dust. Right after I got it I picked her up and sure enough, she puts her hand right on it. She loves that tattoo.
IM sorry but I have to abosolutely disagree. I kow a lot of business professionals that have full sleeves, one thathas been going to Japan for the past 25 years getting a full body suit. It's is more about your style of tatttoo and how you present it to the public that makes people feel like they are all on people that are "bikers" or criminals. Saying that is just as bad as when people put all of us real hunters in the same boat with poachers. read this article http://www.tattooartist.com/history.html
This is what i got after i graduated high school. Minus the lettering. I've been playing with the idea of adding onto it and that's what the lettering is.
I know of hardly any business professionals that have full sleeve tattoos. I live and work in the DC Metro area which is highly competitive and hardly anyone sports neck and sleeve tattoos in the professional world. I completely understand where Tembry is mindframe wise. I have 0 tats and have never had any piercings. I must be a square.
Never said neck tattoos. And you may not see them even off they have them unless they are still rockin the 80's short sleeve short with a tie lol. Sent from my LG-E739 using Tapatalk
X2...knowing your career path and the fact my wife is a pharmacist, you are spot on (at least those that are exposed). As a teacher here, you will most likely never get a second interview for those that are exposed, and frankly, I have no need to get one that no one will ever see but my wife and I and a few other people in the summer. I also have no desire for any for the simple fact that they look haggard the older you get. However, certain tattoos are neat to look at, and I believe everyone is free to do what they want.
Going to get this one recolored after my other arm gets finished. I was never entirely happy with the way it turned out. That's why it pays to find a good artist and spend a little extra money.
Awesome tats man, I'm in the Coast Guard and the comment about sailors with tattoos is pretty true, I'd say half the peopl I've met in the Coast Guard have tattoos I think we're the only branch that lets you get a full sleeve, everything but your hands neck and face are fair game if I'm not mistaken. Just can't have one with obscene themes or profanity, I don't have any and probably won't get any but, I've met A LOT of respectable people with a ton of tattoos!
You are spot on with saying the restrictions are easing up. I served in the Army for 10 years, and when I joined, all tats had to be covered when wearing our Class B uniform(short sleeve dress uniform). That is why all of mine are in places that are not visible unless I want them to be. Now you can join the Army and have tasteful tats that show. What a difference 15 years makes. I also believe that every tattoo should have some sort of special meaning to it.
I have a cross tattoo on my back, and would love to get another one. just haven't come up with the right design or seen one I've really wanted.
